The Golden Lion Hotel in Northumberland

Stayed for the weekend with a walking group and had two meals. The food was excellent the service and staff couldn't of been more helpful. Definitely go back 5 stars 🌟

Lunch here today. Really appreciated the extra mile they went to make sure my meal was gluten free. Very tasty too.

First time here and it's a nice place to visit. Nice to see the locals enjoying it too and they were chatting away, really friendly but happy to let you be if you prefer.I was on my own and just enjoyed reading the newspaper while listening to the craic.Friendly staff, nice food and beer, a good place to relax.

We had a really lovely meal here last night which wasn't planned. It was far better than the normal pub grub. Everything was really tasty. Couldn't give it 5 as the only diet pop was diet coke and the waitress wasn't very helpful when we arrived. Would definitely recommend though.

Didn't stay but visited for meals twice on our 2 week break when we walked Hadrians Wall. Very friendly staff, even to us strangers from the south, on both days. Food was fresh, tasty, hot and very filling and good price. Definitely recommend and no hesitation of returning there if come back to area.Thank you all. And thank you to whoever handed in the phone left on outside table on a busy Saturday night by husband

Food was absolutely delicious - all homemade and beautifully presented too. The fish and chips came with homemade tartare sauce too which was out of this world! Service was really friendly and we felt really welcome as soon as we arrived. All in all a fantastic meal in a lovely rural setting.
