Great find. What I would call a proper pub. We were made to feel welcome. Very dog friendly. Lovely food too and not over priced.

We called in to watch rugby whilst on holiday in the area. Lovely village pub atmosphere with friendly staff and a few local characters in the bar. There are two separate rooms with TVs for sport etc.Staff were very welcoming, pub had a good range of beer, something for all tastes. There is also a small beer garden at the rear of the pub, unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side. I will definitely use this pub again when visiting the area

Locals are really friendly . Great atmosphere. Only downside was the chef had left so no food !!!

The food was great, the fish pie I initially thought it was in a pie dish. Oh no it wasn't it was a proper pastry case, well cooked no soggy bottom, packed to overflowing with fish, topped with potato and cheese, absolutely marvellous. The deep fried brie was a big hit with two others in the party. The children's burger was large... Scampy and chips were spot on. The staff were very friendly, helpful and provided great service. I sat chatting to some of the locals, of which there seemed to be quite a few in attendance, which in itself is a good recommendation. The pub had been recommended to us by the Dunstan Hill Caravan site and they were correct in every detail. Almost forgot very dog friendly, they also supply quality dog biscuits.

Great selection of draught ales. Food was typically "pub grub" wild boar and chorizo burger was lovely, but the fish n chips were not great. The fish was bland. Chips were amazing though. Still worth a visit.
