The Harbour View in Northumberland

I reckon this place could stake a claim at being the best chippy in the UK. Everything on the menu is delicious. Customer service is great too, the staff were super friendly when we visited. We went just before they closed and they didn’t have any sausages left but they kindly cooked another for us.

Exceptional from start to finish. Staff were friendly, I felt safe during the pandemic as they have very professional measures in place. And now for the food, it was not a fish and chips but a whale and chips!! The fish was exceptional and the best I have had. Very clean and not oily. And the chips were sublime. Thanks for the best experience I have encountered in a long while.

Another super lunch with friends. Excellent food, service and value for money. Pensioners special at £8-50 comprises of a cod bite chips choice of peas , sauces, and a beverage. The cod bite is like a thick fish steak and tastes amazing, no grease on the plate. We were given a complimentary glass of wine by the manager....how kind. No wonder this restaurant is so popular.

Excellent fish and chips. Fish is really fresh and chips cooked to perfection. Either eat in at the very pleasant restaurant or get a take away and go and sit on one of the many benches overlooking the fabulous Northumberland Coastline. Superb on views on a sunny day!

First of all, I must say my children enjoyed their sausage and chips.Myself, needing gluten free came away empty handed and hungry after waiting 15 mins to get served. I was informed the chips are cooked separate but the oil they’re fried in is filtered with all the other oil….. so batter, sausage, fish etc. Not worth the risk for myself.

Stopped in for the first time since COVID and flights back on to/from the US. This is always one of my to-go places when over in the UK and it never disappoints. Still one of the best fish and chips places that I have come across on my travels. Went in the restaurant this time and was served by both Briony and Sharon who were both really friendly, and very flexible on making a custom order since I have the one chance to eat all of my favorites. Will definitely be back here again when I get across once more, and can only recommend to others to go

We hadn't been in this cafe before. Fresh tasty Fish n Chips, proper Mushy peas. Smiley staff too. We ordered the regular size portions and were treated to a complimentary little starter while we waited, which was tasty. Then out came a Whale of a Haddock each!! WOW! We really enjoyed it, but were defeated by the size, so the lovely staff brought us some boxes for our leftovers. We had Fish n Chips for tea too!! Delish! We will definitely visit again before our holiday is over.

Such a lovely place to sit in for one of the best fish n chips in northumbria. Good sized portion, good variety n I love the fact that it isn't oily like most fish n chips can be. Highly recommended.

I have to say, this is the best fish and chips I have ever had. The fish was cooked to perfection in a crispy batter. The chips were just superb, a little vinegar, salt and dipped in proper chip shop curry sauce. An absolute delight of a meal. Word of warning, do not attempt the large portion, it will beat you 😁Definitely a place to visit, either sit down or take away. Top notch 👍😁
