The Heart of Northumberland in Northumberland

Lovely little pub serving epic food. Stopped here on our way to Norhumberland National Park, and as a vegan was pleasantly surprised to see multiple options available to me on their menu. The meat eaters with us also enjoyed their grub. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Great food prepared well and quickly especially for late on Sunday serving time. If you have teens with you ensure they have I'd. Food was brilliant only slight comment was that the toasties were a little large.

My previous review needs an update - unfortunately.I've visited this pub many times, and previous times have been great. Food is nice, and the staff are great. However my previous visit didn't live up to this expectation.The food was bland and flavourless, and the menu is noticeably less appetising than previous visits. Another niche issue is that the allergen menus weren't available when ordering, so we had to rely on the amazing waitress' memory for details about allergens. What happened to the dedicated allergen menus?

This is a gem of a pub. The staff are friendly & welcoming. The food is lovely & the ales/beers are local some coming from Alansdale. I really like this place.

Guy on the bar, fantastic. Food was good. Both waitresses were awful at serving us out meals. They didn't ask if we want sauces, randomly served other people between giving us part of our food, just were not attentive. They brought coffees but no sugar. nor did either ask. My partner saw them act differently with other customers, may unfortunately be correct here we a couple with a kid got things quickly and were asked if they wanted condements and another older couple with a dog got asked if they wanted extra drinks etc. I had to revisit the bar to check where my pint was and it was waiting to be collected, even though she had brought us sauces 5 mins before...odd.

The pub atmosphere was amazing. The staff were really friendly and polite. I had the BBQ Pulled jackfruit burger with fries that were perfectly seasoned.

They were very busy and we didn't have a reservation but they squeezed us in. My Husband said the beer was great. And the food was good - mushroom pie with mash and fish and chips, very good piece of haddock.

A lovely place great staff tables cleaned before we sat down. Main meals are excellent and the Fish and Chips are amazing. Also good sandwich and burger menus. Felt really comfortable with table layout and the overall atmosphere. Prices are good as was the service. Also a good selection of local beers and other drinks. We have been before so we knew it be good.

Beautiful place clean and very cosy, not happy with our meals, "slow cooked silverside beef dinner " it was just warm, I mean just warm, when we received our bill it was more than on menu price, make sure you pay correctly
