After moving house,decided to order a take awayWill definitely order again. Breaded chicken was superb, chips,garlic mushrooms beautiful and the onion rings were to die for .Excellent garlic sauce too.Won't go anywhere else now

Everything great today at island view inn. My veggie Christmas dinner was brilliant and the staff are amazing always there if you need anything and very friendly. Thank you Island View.

We are staying at Haggerston Castle, the choice of take aways that deliver are limited, but after ordering from here we don't need another (apart from an Indian). The burgers are excellent, the chips home made, fish crispy and fresh. We also loved the filled dough balls, battered onion rings, fritters and curry sauce. So will be back to try the pizzas. Excellent value for money, we would highly recommend.

The food here is quality and for the price can't be beaten! The staff are extremely friendly and courteous! Have been here on a number of occasions and they have never failed to please!

We’d booked an overnight stay to break up our journey to north of Scotland. Bruce (the owner) and his staff were very welcoming and friendly., the food was excellent and the room clean and comfortable. We decided to rebook for our journey home 2 weeks later. Again could not fault the service or food. If you want a no frills but clean and comfortable place to stay that does great home cooked food and is dog friendly ... right smack bang on the A1 just before the Scottish border... then look no further

Great experience here. The room was clean and tidy, had everything you'd expect from a hotel chain. We had the family room which also had a separate room with bunk beds as well which was a surprising bonus. The view from the front was great. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and the owner spent some time chatting with us as well. Very friendly and the prices were very affordable as well.

Reasonably attentive waiter. However there were issues. The steak and ale pie was terribly dry with no gravy. Only got served 4 meals as opposed to 5 and initially was told it was our fault ! Until as we was leaving it became clear they did admit that it was their fault. They did take off the cost of a meal. Just feel as though they have a lot of learning to pursue!The restaurant was clean and reasonably well presented. The haggis and black pudding stack was quite good.Unfortunately, we won't be visiting again.
