"The Plough on the Hill is a country pub serving the very best local ales and produce in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We have two outside terraces overlooking the stunning cheviot hills and a woodfired oven serving the very best homemade pizzas. We are ideal for families as we have a large children's play area to keep the kids entertained for hours."

Brilliant pub in a village setting. With a quaint feeling to it, there's a lot of history behind this pub! Owner behind the bar is very friendly and let me sample one of the beers before I ordered a pint of it. Resident dog, George, is a credit to the team and so, so friendly. We wanted to order food but the pub is currently without a chef. However we were informed that they are in the process of bringing someone new in. Just means I have an excuse to go back to support this pub in the very difficult times. If you want to help support bars through this pandemic then please visit this establishment as it's got a very nice vibe to it and the owners are brilliant! The pub itself has a vintage feel to it and it's been a long time since I have had a drink in a pub that feels like a real pub. Thanks for a good experience to the friendly owners of this bar. We will be back!

Stayed in carpark in a motorhome. Made very welcome by lovely hosts and beers were excellent. Unfortunately no food available temporarily as new chef due to start soon. Will definitely return.

Very friendly service and good prices too. A good little place to stop for a quiet drink when out walking, we really enjoyed it.

Called into The Plough for lunch on Saturday for the first time in years as I'd been living away. I had Chicken stuffed with stilton wrapped in bacon and my sister had the Chicken stuffed with haggis version. The food was amazing, there's a huge plateful, and they offer proper chips. Staff were friendly and so were the regulars. A lovely atmosphere, we'll definitely be back.

Amazing and tasty Sunday lunch! First time in visiting the plough at Mitford and I was not disappointed, Small and welcoming pub with a friendly atmosphere. Sunday lunch was very tasty and portion sizes were great to! The gravy and Yorkshire pudding were amazing, we also received excellent service like nothing was a bother to them. It was also lovely to see the chef taking pride in the food and service to, as he chatted and asked us if everything was okay along with many other tables before returning to the kitchen. I would definitely return for another Sunday lunch and hopefully be able to fit in a pudding next time.
