My Google map check before I dropped by suggested 'busy than usual' so we were somewhat bemused to find ourselves the only customers! I imagine we missed the rush.Large bar areas, very well appointed and being cleaned into submission by a less than chatty bar staff member. Two real ales on tap. Plenty of books to read in the lounge (just as well if you were on your own!)

Great hotel in middle of Alnwick. Claire and her staff all go the extra mile to solve any problems and to.make your stay as great as possible. Amazing breakfasts and comfy beds. Lovely weekend

We had lunch at The Plough, and we really enjoyed it!The food was lovely and there was a very relaxed atmosphere. It is also dog friendly which is a very important tick in the box from us! 🐶The staff were clearly busy but dealt with it very well as the service was very friendly and prompt. The waitress engaged with my daughter which was nice as in some places the kids can treated as if they are invisible, but that wasn’t the case here at all!

Last night we each had 2 courses for £15. We opted for starters & mains but could have had main & pudding. The food was excellent; different, very tasty, good but not overwhelming portion sizes. Very friendly and professional young staff. Can highly recommend.

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch, lovely venue, efficient staff. Starters of mackerel pate & camembert delicious, Spouse raved over roast beef & well cooked veg. Daughter & I adored vegeburgers - tasty and moist. The chocolate brownies were gorgeous . We will return.

Really tasty Sunday dinner. Lamb shank is nice and tender, fish and chips lovely, meaty and succulent. Good beer, good service... What more do you need from good pub food?

Amazing staff, the lead waitress professionally dealt with an inconsiderate family whose kid was blasting a game out.We only went due to a cancellation elsewhere, and are glad we did..amazing Sunday lunch and wine. A great little find.

The Plough looks great and the staff are really friendly. The upstairs function room is really well presented. Disabled access is poor though and there are no toilets on the same floor as the function room so bear that in mind if you're planning to hire it out.

One of the best Sunday roasts. I highly recommend also getting the cauliflower cheese as an extra as it's very good!
