Had an evening dinner here and all I can say is OMG! Delicious! When we had eaten we asked the waiter to offer our compliments to the chef and he said the chef used to work in a Michelin star restaurant and if the food we ate is anything to go by I can see why these places are so good at food, ours was outstanding. We didn't stay as guests so can't comment on the rooms but food 5 stars, staff 5 stars and the bar is very comfortable 👌 #busmanpaddy

I rang and booked for my partners 50th birthday, totally out of the blue whilst we were staying in the area, was assured that they could accomodate and they did not disappoint, the food was out of this world for both of us, we would happily follow this couple no matter where there business was, never have we had service, food and consideration given with such infectious enthusiasm, nothing was too much trouble, the manager and chef make a fantastic duo and compliment each other. It was a real pleasure to meet them both, long may they continue !!!!

I booked to stay overnight yesterday here for an post birthday celebration. The place was really lovely, the room we had was the superior room, very well decorated and had nice theme The staff were exceptionally friendly. Couldn't have been more helpful. The food was fantastic. We had the steak meal deal which was so tasty. The whole place has a nice ambiance, very relaxing and makes you feel so welcome. Would recommend. The village itself is very quiet there are two others places to eat and drink plus there is a social club.

Second visit to this hotel. Once again the accomoation was excellent and the food. What can I say. Magnificent, a credit to the chef. The hotel is worth a visit if only for the food. We will be back in late February, and looking forward to it.Great food and equally great service by friendly owners and staff. A good locals pub where everyone is friendly and easy to get involved with.

Staying at the Railway Hotel at the moment, overall really enjoying it.Some little things could make it better: extra hangers in the wardrobe, some usb chargers added to the mains sockets, maybe put the tv on the wall to make better use of space , the en-suite is nice and new , but pretty cramped. Oh, and when we arrived the room did smell of dogs… even though they aren’t allowed. That being said, the view across the river is lovely. The staff are really friendly ( and coped really well with the awkward guest at breakfast this morning )And the food…… AWESOME . Best burgers we’ve ever had. The South African “ special “ - Bunny Chow - was absolutely delicious . The fresh bread was delicious. I’d really recommend this dish to anyone who hasn’t tried it…..If you are looking for a nice place to stay near Hadrian’s Wall , give the Railway Hotel in Haydon Bridge a try

I have recently stayed at the Railway Inn for 4 nights on a business trip. The staff were exceptional and very welcoming, the hotel is set in a quiet village location just outside of Hexham.I had a room which looked over the river, which was a nice outlook. The owner and staff were very accommodating and extremely pleasant and could not do enough to make you feel at home. The evening meal l opted for the special which was a 24 ounce sirloin on the bone , ( eyes bigger then my belly!!) which was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection, again the staff were very accommodating and attentive. This was the first time that I have stayed over as in lockdown and was the first night that the hotel had allowed guests due to restrictions and they were exceptional it was quite obvious all the local residents had a special place for this pub/hotel and it’s no wonder why. Would definitely recommend The only downside is that I did not have time to explore a stroll along the river a stone’s throw from the hotel!!

We stopped at The Railway Hotel whilst cycling the Hadrians cycling route. We had a great welcome from the manager and everyone was really friendly. There’s a shed to securely lock your bike so you may not need to bring a big heavy lock if you are cycling. The menu all looked great and all 5 of us enjoyed our dishes. The rooms were comfortable and the piece de resistance were the showers. They were hot and powerful, which was exactly what we needed after a long day riding our bikes. There’s nice views over the river and a coop just around the corner. The room came with breakfast and the full English was lovely.
