Another new favourite! Lovely staff and the foods amazing. Worth booking on Saturdays or for groups as usually busy but they squeezed us in.Sandwiches are HUGE and there's a good selection of food for veggies.

·

Incredible breakfast. Bethany who served us was lovely. Highly recommend. Wish we hadn't discovered it on only our last day of holiday.

·

Amazing breakfast! Scone and clotted cream is featured in my picture. They also have a proper high tea. Check it out!For my American friends they do have filtered coffee (drip coffee)

This is a top top establishment and part of a great family. The staff here couldn’t be more accommodating and we had a lovely time today. Great food, fantastic presentation and taste and having wonderful and attentive staff made the whole day.Thank you for having us!!Has baby changing (though in the female toilets) and doesn’t take American Express.Great great food! Cannot recommend highly enough.

The running fox is the best place for afternoon tea in the North East. The portions are huge and I always have to take something home, which is brilliant!Alongside classic sandwiches they have something different, like a goats cheese, walnut and honey drizzle which I would highly recommend; everything tastes exquisite though. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. I have never been disappointed. If you're an anxious driver, the Shilbottle Running Fox has a car park around the back which is very handy.Thank you to everyone at The Running Fox for a wonderful visit.

We went for afternoon tea for my husband's birthday. The food was amazing! Easily the biggest afternoon tea we've had and by far the best. The pub was fantastic with a great roaring fire, and the service from the staff was perfect. Especially Tracy, who made us feel very welcome. And they are dog friendly too!!Would definitely recommend.

Smashing place to go for a drink/meal/snack or just a coffee. Has an artisan shop selling a range of mouth watering savories and sweets. Friendly staff and a good sized parking area.A bit off the main roads but worth the effort to find it in my opinion.TIP - Book in advance if visiting at popular time as it will be busy.

BEST AFTERNOON TEAI love a good afternoon tea, this place is my favourite, better than Bettys, better than south Causey.Portion sizes were generous, I did have to take some food home.I bought vouchers for another afternoon tea to get me back there soon.

REVIEW IS FOR FENTON LOCATION!!!We were gifted an afternoon tea for two. We had heard wonder things about The Running Fox.From the moment we arrived and were seated the five star treatment began. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. Our server Bethany (please ask for her!) was a delight. As a vegetarian, at times it is a challenge to find items on the menu. This was not the case here. This is my new favorite spot and I will return again and again.

Wow. No other words! My husband and I came here for my birthday it was just the treat we wanted! Food was outstanding and the service was so friendly and welcoming.I had the coronation chicken sandwich, the bacon and brie quiche which was delicious! A fruit scone and carrot and walnut cake. My husband had a sausage, cheddar and onion chutney sandwich, the pan haggerty pie, a fruit scone and the chocolate fudge cake. Could not fault anything.. I can't wait to come back!
