Good fish and chips just like it should be

Where to start, this fish and chip shop to me used to be the best in hexham, but over the last 5 years it's slowly lost it touch, portion sizes are now extremely small (chip butty, may aswell ask for a chip sandwich), and it's not unintentional, I know ex members of staff who have told me one certain member of staff calls for this.Chips have also been over cooked at times, and the attitude of one member of staff is simply unwarranted, a simple smile and thank you would be nice from time to time, I'm done supporting this take away.Today, I was given attitude when ordering at the door (there was no other human in sight), and on leaving i was passed a menu and told the 'phone number is on there' very abruptly, as if they don't take orders at the door anymore. When a sign clearly states you can, on a post outside the shop.For the last 3 years, I've only used this fish and chip shop as a last resort, its extremely sad, and I've kept my opinion to myself for far too long now.

Absolutely love this little chip shop. Staff and owner's are lovely. Fish and chips are divine. Myself, my son and my father travel 22 miles at least once a week for a treat here. Highly recommended 👍 😁

Nice fish and chips. Booked a slot on the phone, and was served my order right on time. Only a few people waiting, so virtually no queue.

Pretty good fish and chips. A bit oilier than the other Hexham chippies but tasty. The mushy peas are superb.

This was a clean, friendly well run fish and chip shop, not to mention the extremely tasty fish and chips!We visited twice while in the area with the same generous high quality food each time.If you find yourself in Hexham, make the effort!

Got fish and chips from here tonight. Chips were dark brown, the fish was very dry. Looked as if they been cooked twice. Will not be back.
