Great pub. This cosy pub has a great selection of pub snacks and locally brewed ale. Beer on choice was varied with mixture of light, pale and dark ales on offer.The food menu is limited but that means all food is top quality and fresh. Our party ordered a mixture of cheese toasties, goats cheese sandwich and local sourced crab sandwiches. All of which were impressive. The pub had plenty of outdoor space with stunning sea views.

Beautiful beach side location. Beer brewed on the premises and along with delicious food,served by very friendly staff. Covid precautions are still in evidence which I appreciate. Toilets are spotless as is the restaurant area. Ideal destination after a long walk on the beach. Public car parking approx 200yds at the entry to the village.

A lovely little pub a stones throw from the sandy beach at Low Newton, Busy on a sunny Saturday in June when we visited. We only had a drink but the kitchen was busy serving food which all looked appetising. Lots of seating outside as well as in. The bonus is the micro brewery adjoining the pub which supplies the majority of ales & lager. A good watering hole when on a long walk or hike or relaxing on the sandy beach. An update 17 07 2020. Covid friendly! The pub has done a great jobmaking the place safe for eating & drinking. The customers' queue outside to order food & drink at an open window then collect the drinks at the pub entrance 2 metres away. Food is served through another window. All the food is served in disposable packaging & the customer disposes the containers in a bin & empty glasses are put in crates so minimal contact between staff & customers. All al fresco with an extra area of awnings as well as the usual outside seating & grassed area. NOTE - Card payment only.Update 18.03.22 .Now fully open inside the premises & with seating & awning available outside. As good as ever.

A pleasant, cosy pub by the sea Staff were friendly. We have previously eaten here and the food was good. Very pleasant home brewed beer on tap they is reasonably priced

Hard to say what hasn't already been said. The location is very special, although parking in a short distance away from the pub. It is a characterful, inviting, cosy pub where people and dogs are welcome. Walkers make up a bulk of customers I expect, so no concerns with regard to footwear. The interior is simple but perfect for the setting. There is a disabled parking bay nearby.There are a limited number of tables inside but on a pleasant January day many ate at one of the outdoor tables. Tables cannot be pre-booked, so you have to take a chance on grabbing a table when you arrive. It was full this Sunday afternoon.The menu is limited but appropriate for the type of customer visiting. We had ciabatta's followed by apple crumble, both of which were very nice and reasonably priced.In summary, a beautiful location and a characterful, welcoming, proper pub.

Visited having been recommended by a friend. Lovely pub, beautiful location. Sadly and badly let down by one of the rudest bar staff I have ever come across, more or less threw my beer at me. Clearly in the wrong job. I got the impression she is the chef and quite clearly should stay in the kitchen as she is letting this place down by being front of house. The other two staff were lovely but unfortunately I had the displeasure of being served by this woman (blond hair) twice. Didn't order food I was frightened.

A treasure of a pub & a joy to eat there. The pub has its own micro brewery so a must for those that like craft real ales. The food is superb and the setting casual, what more could you ask for?

Interesting pub in a lovely place - quite a walk from the car park down hill to get there but obviously up hill to get back. Rather rude staff thought I was making a fuss because they had no slimline tonic - I'm diabetic not 'slimming' so I was unable to have a drink however my husband thoroughly enjoyed his pint.

Great pub perfectly located for pit stop on walk along coastal path. Nice home produced ales and food we tried was tasty (kippers/pie). Definitely worth a visit. Staff very friendly too, we were even warned when they were going to release gas in the on site brewery!

Let's start with the location and look of the place, which you can't really fault, there is a beautiful green and a gorgeous u shape series of white washed houses with a pub at its heart. Its right by the sea. It's gorgeous. The pub itself even has that coveted fireplace ( though not on when I came in the summer).Now as much as I support local artists, there is, semi objectively, too much art on the stone walls. I love art but I also love stone walls. My main complaint is however that there is no WiFi, and I have to admit, as I am travelling through the region (and the UK) in a camper, spending all my money in restaurants and using these times to plan the next day of travel, I find this lack of basics very frustrating and I am losing patience with it. Before you shame me about my reliance on wifi, I carry a phone and a separate 4g dongle but no signal was available within these walls so it's not a choice. I (and the table next to me apparently) would therefore appreciate if the management could fork out £40 a month to offer wifi to an otherwise helpless clientele "we just don't do that" is what I was told, "you can get signal on the green" - an improvised picnic? Anyways, It was pie night when I phoned and i was glad I was able to secure a spot. After asking for recommendations I went for the cauliflower one, which was a good vegetarian option but I wouldn't say it was a mindblowing pie as in, does this really call for a pie or are we still not entirely comfortable with the concept of vegetarian meals? The gravy was tasty the crust was good too. Seems to me that the specialty mushy peas were in fact garden peas slightly mashed which to be honest is what I try to get away with when doing them at home. The house wine was good. So overall, it wasn't bad, it was good even, there is room for improvement and I'm not sure it would take that much to get there.
