The Snowy Owl in Northumberland

Beautiful country pub and one of the best breakfasts I think I have ever had!! Fully recommend the beetroot hash as an added extra. Staff are so friendly, warm, welcoming and just idyllic in setting.

We has a thoroughly enjoyable visit on Saturday. We were welcomed by a friendly young man and taken to our table where we received first class table service.The food was excellent. Our starters arrived in good time and our main with a decent time to digest starters. My seabass was gorgeous, compliments to the chef on cooking this dish for the first time. It was so flavorsome. Of course the desserts were good but in all honesty they took us over our full up stage, it was definitely a case of eyes bigger than bellies ..well not when we left🤭🤭.I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending the Snowy Owl. Thank you.

A lovely atmosphere, very friendly helpful staff, nothing was a problem . I asked if I could have the turkey roast with veg without butter, the young lady went straight to the kitchen to sort it for me. The food was Beautiful and plentiful. Would definitely be going back again.

Lovely surroundings, and staff are really nice. Very wheelchair friendly which is a big plus for us. The food is nice but nice is generally all it is. Went on a Sunday and the time we went there was no beef or lamb left. Pretty poor really therefore we had fish and chips and burgers. The fish was a bit greasy but ok and the burger apparently a bit tasteless but ok. The portions are smallish and it's not cheap either. All of this sounds negative I guess but we always have a nice time if only the food was a just a bit better.

Great food and beers, book table is recommended due to COVID chef issues.

Really pretty place and the staff were very friendly. We had a lovely big room in the the lodge and really enjoyed it. The breakfast was enjoyable, and the beetroot hummus was excellent! Could maybe do with a lick of paint here and there but it was a lovely place to stay

Service from staff was excellent but food was very disappointing. My friend and I only wanted something light to eat, we definitely received light. We both ordered the King prawn and crab cocktail starter. 6 of the smallest king prawns I have ever seen, 1 piece of crab. Also had to clean the prawns. I have eaten at the Snowy Owl and had a wonderful experience but not this time. Would not recommend this starter.

Great service, great staff but the food was a disappointment, cremated to death, maybe chef had a bad day. We had vegetarian lasagne and hunter's chicken..
