The Turks Head in Northumberland

Well positioned in the middle of the town we were given a lovely big room (No 3) which overlooked the green and centre. The room was huge with three very comfortable beds, a coffee table and a nice leather sofa.The staff were very friendly in true Northumberland style and made us feel welcome and the bar was obviously popular with locals.Unfortunately the food was a bit hit and miss; we had to send one dinner back as inedible, the other one was OK, and breakfast service needed a little more attention to detail.During a very cold and snowy week in March some heating in the morning would have got the day off to a better start.

Wow, just next to where we were staying, who would have known there could be such a good meal. Fantastic fish and proper chips & Best burger I've had in a long time......and dog friendly, result !

Really happy with my stay. Wasnt kept awake or woken up by the pub. Breakfast was great as well

Having visited and stayed in Rothbury for a few years on holiday we haven’t been to the Turks Head before, even though we wanted too but never got round to it . Well today we visited the Turks Head with friends and our 2 dogs. Ordered 4 meals from the menu, absolutely brilliant choice on offer…. and a great selection for vegetarians. Service was great , for a Monday afternoon it was busy. Food came and wow, real proper cooked pub food….. absolutely superb. I personally had the Fish and Chips, highly recommended……The atmosphere in the pub was great, locals making you feel welcome, staff brilliant and nothing was too much trouble……. Really pleased we went into today and it won’t be the last…… Superb Superb Superb

Visited Rothbury today and we enjoyed a lovely meal in The Turks Head. The atmosphere was lovely and the guy behind the bar was really lovely with the guests and us! We will be back again!

Excellent place to stay, staff very friendly, room was very clean and plenty of space. Food was excellent aswell ,definitely recommend, will be going back.

Been here a few times, they serve a fantastic Sunday lunch, and great selection on the menu, the garden is amazing, so great for children when it gets warmer, and of course its in the beautiful village of Rothbury.

Food, service and surroundings all excellent. First time here at the Turk's Head but it won't be the last. We all thoroughly enjoyed our different meals and as a picky meat eater I was delighted in my slow cooked beef in warm ciabatta with chips and extra gravy. Raspberry Pavlova must have been made in heaven. Well done everyone. Don't understand the poor reviews. Certainly not our experience.
