The Village Inn in Northumberland

Passed this place lots and always been drawn to it. Usually put off by the mass of cars outside and not being a person who likes to wait, we gave it a go. Once inside it was silly busy, but the waiter found us a table in no time with no issue. The other half got the steak and said it was completely perfect, I opted for the Greek gyros wrap, which couldn't have been better if it was served in Greece! Absolutely beautiful, infact just writing this review is making me want to go back right now!

Staying local so thought we would dine out on our last nightI had chicken wrapped in bacon with black pudding in the chicken. Mash with haggis plus veg. My wife had scampi.The food was awesome, well presented and value for money.We were made welcome and the locals loved the dog ( dogs welcome in the building)Highly recommended if you are ever passing through or staying nearby

After walking in the Cheviots, we stopped here to see if they had a table. Very accommodating and friendly. We had the Barbeque burger and Gyros, both with chips such a lovely meal. Probably the best burger I've had in years. We came from South Shields so will make a point of coming again when out walking.

Lovely atmosphere and amazing food. Well worth the price. I will definitely come back here if I come back on holiday.

This is a very nice pub! I've not tried the food yet but it looks really good and the menu is quite comprehensive! Lots of tasty treats to try. The beer is excellent, and the welcome is very warm too.UPDATE. I've tried the food twice now and I can't recommend it highly enough! Beautiful food, great atmosphere and yes, beautiful food! Try it, you're going to love it! 😊

This is now our new favourite pub in the North East. The people are as friendly as you could meet anywhere and the Sunday dinner I've just had was probably the best I've EVER had from a carvery. I don't know what's in the gravy but it's something else, so tasty. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere nice to relax, have a couple of drinks around friendly people in a nice, friendly environment then enjoy some good food. Great!

Best hand cooked chips around and the Balmoral Chicken with haggis infused potatoes is beautiful. Sunday lunch tastes so homemade and nobody can touch their burgers. Great food and some good beers.

Booked in advance as we wanted somewhere to break a journey for a holiday. It was a really good choice. The pub is very traditional in appearance,very clean,well decorated and welcoming and set within a lovely village. The staff were very friendly,polite and efficient and the food was well cooked,tasty and reasonably priced. It's a shame it isn't my local. Well worth a visit.

We loved this place. The staff were so genuine, sincere and friendly. The room for a pub was great, roomy and clean. The food we would call of "Northern portion size". The steak pie was quite possibly one of the best pies we had ever had. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
