Dropped in on our way to Hexham and received a very warm welcome. Breakfast served despite the fact we were early and it was delicious. Many thanks x

Came for a meal, pre booked a table and we were plonked on a dirty, sticky table which didn't have enough cutlery. In the area we were sitting there was still breakfast rubbish lying on the floor.. this was 8pm! The staff didn't bring menus, and didn't offer any drinks. The menu is poor compared to when they used to have the steakhouse. The lad serving at the bat didn't note down how we liked our steaks therefore they were returned as they came out basically fresh from the farm. Then side orders came out after we finished. Not one member of staff came to ask if everything was OK. I'd say the staff need a course in hospitality and the place needs a thorough clean.

My partner and I stayed here on the 29th January. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean but that was the only good to report. The room it's self was not fit to rent out. There was water damage down one wall and all along the bottom. The wood around windows was cracked right down and some parts damaged. The room must have been a smoking room in past as everything yellow stained however you can see the wallpaper is meant to be white in the corners. The breakfast left little to be desired the water for the tea was only just warm.Checking in and out was not much better. The member of staff checking us in gave no information on where breakfast was and when checking out there was no one to be found untill one lady came and took keys no buy no hope you enjoyed your stay. I would recommend a room make over and more inviting staff.

Can't understand how your charging so much for rooms, out dated and minimal.... stayed 22/01/21 breakfast was awful. Sausage tastes like cardboard, bacon was raw asweĺl as mushrooms. Only thing that was edible was the toast and fried eggs. Definitely will not be returning for another visit.

The hotel is in an ideal location , close to Morpeth town and transport.Unfortunately the place is desperate for a full make over , I believe if rooms and corridors were stripped of wallpaper etc this would uncover a host of major repairs ! Yes this is an old building I understand that, but this could be one of the best places to stay in Morpeth if the money was spent .The housekeeping is very good , clean beds every other day and the rooms cleaned and tidied .The staff are lovely and very courteous and they deserve to work in a place that they could be proud of . .

I was in room 6 and it was very dated. Cold shower every morning with toilet flush and sink cold tap faulty. Price OK but expected more from a premium location venue in heart of Morpeth.

2 stars ONLY because the bar is nice or id of gave this a 1, the rooms are clean but very very dated. The smell of damp and sick hits you as you go up the poorly lit staircase, pitty they didn't put more of an effort into the hotel as they have the bar. Definitely wont stay again, id rather sleep in a tent. The price for what you get is shocking! Breakfast served from 7am until 8.30am.. Thought it might of been until at least 10. Never again.

Very disappointed, one of the worse hotel rooms, decor and facilities very tired, bedding felt damp, wallpaper hanging off the walls, couldn't open the bathroom door if toilet seat down. No hot water then shower wouldn't turn off. Requested a new room which was only slightly better but shower did work. Asked for a discount was given free breakfast. What a shame as we won't be going back there, we visit family quite often in Morpeth.

First impressions were not great. Wallpaper peeling, lots of fixing to be done etc but you know what, we had a great night!! Bed was very comfy, staff lovely, fantastic breakfast and all in all a really nice time. I do feel the price was a little more than it should have been for what it is as to why I put 4 stars but would come again!
