The Wood Oven in Northumberland

I’ve had Pizza in Florence and other places but this beats them all! The Doddington cheese and red onion with ham was astounding. No signs outside for passers by but I guess survives by reputation and word of mouth alone and long may it continue. Do not miss out..seriously if you’re a food lover, go.

The best service and pizza I’ve had in a long long time.The lady (believe it was Cathy) who served our party of 4 plus 2 babies couldn’t do enough for us.The pizza was full of flavour and surprisingly light. We will be returning!

Sit in or take away ... best pizza I've had outside of Italy ... the owner takes his art very seriously ... yum!

Really excellent pizza as you'd expect to find in any city nowadays, so finding it in relatively rural Wylam is a real gem. Proper fermented pizza dough cooked in a wood oven (as the name suggests!).All the Covid rules were being followed, which is good (shouldn't need to be remarked upon, but you go into some places and clearly they aren't).Ambitious combination of toppings as well, particularly enjoyed the asparagus pizza from the specials menu. There were lots of vegetarian/vegan options on both the regular and special menus.Pricing-wise, it's basically what you'd pay for a similar quality pizza in Newcastle. As other reviewers have said, you get what you pay for.
