Spacious very clean room. Stunning views. Welcoming friendly staff. Excellent cooked breakfast. Black pudding, quality sausage and fried bread delicious.

Superb food, generous portions and great service. Nice walk nearby too.

Had a lovely Sunday Lunch here after walking along the river from Rothbury. We sat in the garden as we had the dog but did have the option of going in the bar with the dog if we'd wanted. It was a nice day and the view from the garden was lovely ao we were happy to sit there. Staff were very nice. Carvery was very good. Husband had vegetarian lasagne which he said was good. Restaurant area looked nice. We will definitely go there again.

Had a lovely hearty lunch here, including some good vegan options. The staff were really welcoming, and incredibly helpful with a number of requests.

Visited this lovely establishment today for a drink and a light bite to eat and can't thank the staff enough. Greeted with a homely warm welcome by staff who had clocked off and were very helpful and was looked after by a extremely helpful and courteous gentleman called Conner. The beer was served as it should be and our sandwiches were tasty, fresh and filling as we're our puddings. A big thank you and hope to pop back again soon, Simon Penaluna, Newcastle

We were stranded in the area during the recent high winds and power cuts and were kindly accommodated here - me, the husband, three teenagers and the dog! We were so grateful for the kindness shown to us; the blazing fire and candle-lit bar were a welcoming refuge from the dreadful conditions outside. Lovely staff, wonderful breakfast, gorgeous room with beautiful views and amazingly friendly bar.

This place is simply fantastic for its food. Very good vegetarian options, my wife had the Vegetable sizzle in a bbq sauce. I had the best burger I've ever tasted, dear I thought at £15 but you get what you pay for. I had the Whammy burger which was 3 patties, beef, chicken and pork & apple. The meat was so succulent and tasty, worth every penny. Great staff too, very highly recommended.

Had an overnight stay with my other half & what a treat. We had a family room, which was spotlessly clean & spacious, with a newly refurbished bathroom. Sadly ours didn't have the amazing view the rooms at the back do, but it was still lovely (the double rooms were already booked). We also had our evening meal in the restaurant & wow, first class food & service. We woke the next morning after a fab night sleep & ate the best full english breakfast we've ever had! Quality ingredients, cooked perfectly & enough to set you up for the day. We can't wait to return.

Great staff, fabulous food and the best beer garden I've ever been in. An absolute gem of a place. I stayed in Room 3 on Tue 31 Aug '21 and it was fabulous, with the most beautiful view over the fields and hills. Starters, mains, dessert, cheese board, all superb, couldn't fault a thing. Breakfast was top notch as well. Thank you to Gail and her wonderful staff for a fabulous short break, we will be back soon.

Lovely place and bar is dog friendly. Visited as a family, lovely menu for adults and separate one for kids. All meals were good portions and enjoyed by all. Staff were really very friendly. Would recommend the visit, just a few miles outside of Rothbury and probably easier to get a table.
