Winships Restaurant in Northumberland

Surprised to find the restaurant empty except for us on a Saturday night, as everything about it was excellent: food delicious and huge portions, service friendly and attentive, ambience conducive to a lovely evening out. Worth a visit

Great food, pricey booze.

Even though they had lost our booking (almost a disaster for a family of 5 on bikes!) we were fitted in and had amazing food. This is a lovely little restaurant with great service. Highly recommend.

Found this lovely place by accident whilst walking the Tyne Valley with the CockersDog and human friendly.Only stayed for a drink but plan to return for food ASAP.

Lovely friendly staff serving great tasty food and thx for the water for our dog (did sit outside). Thx

Asked for a chicken sandwich and a coffee. Was asked if I wanted lettuce and mayo on it. Said no the mayo and yes to the lettuce. Sandwich came with mayo and no lettuce. Why ask if you're just going to get it wrong? I hate mayo. Also, coffee was lame. If I'm paying barista price for a black coffee, I expect a barista coffee, not a French press.

A little hidden gem for food. Reasonable prices and all home cooked. Sunday lunch was great.

Friendly and accommodating. Superb food and good value, pretty much the perfect combination. A little out of the way but worth a journey.

Italian oriented reasonable prices, extensive wine list with three draught beers, very friendly and welcoming . Also does take away pizza but beware the pizza are a large 12inch .We had mussels as a main large portion and delicious, we were surprised how busy it was and glad we booked. We were also pleased with the attentive but not in your face service. Thanks for a great experience and meal (6th June 2019)

Very nice mediterranean oriented food with a local twist. Service is attentive & prices are reasonable. Although the restaurant is nicely presented, it was a little lacking in personality. But that's just my taste.
