Really disappointed at how rude older lady was in here, one customer outside yet was told my 4 year old could not use toilet unless we all purchased something. Next time I'm going to let my child pee on floor outside.Disgraceful rule and disgusting attitude, you should be ashamed. If I rate a zero I would..

Awesome place! Outside seating that's great for dog walkers, with lovely staff and nice view. One one gluten free option for food, which was a macaroon, but my partner had the lemon drizzle and he loved it. He had a moccha when I had a hot chocolate special and it was great. Can't wait to go back. It really adds something lovely to such a serene walk

Lovely setting in the valley gardens. Although, calling the place a tea room was stretching it a bit. Not a teapot in sight. I’m assuming the teabag that was placed in my cup was Yorkshire tea as advertised. The coffee that was ordered seemed to taste like it was out of vending machine. As for the cake or sandwich selection, there was only Lemon cake and zero sandwiches. We were very disappointed as we had driven from Whitby looking forward to a proper authentic tea room. Unfortunately, the pictures didn’t reflect the reality.

Turned up twice on days (and times) that Google, their Facebook page, their own website and even the signage outside the place said they should be open - they weren't, which is really poor. In fact the locality seemed to be full of people making their way up to the tea rooms only to come away bemused at why they were closed without notice... Incredibly disappointing as it sounds/looks great. Maybe one day we'll get to visit.

We came across this gem by accident. It was almost magical! Lovely welcome for us and the dog. Cakes to die for and a fully loaded hot chocolate with marshmallows and squirty cream. OMG. Made our day.

Great service, lovely staff, and food and drink. They are only serving one customer at a time, you cannot use the toilet or eat in, but hopefully next year it should be back to normal. Overall a hidden gem.

Absolutely brilliant place to stop bye for a chat and a cuppa with a friend and catch up on friends while you let the world go by. I is very relaxing and you have a marvellous selection of cakes and similar home made treats and goodies to tantalize your taste buds. The tea is excellent to. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the service is brilliant. I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone who is seeking a fantastic experience. This is an experience not to be missed.

A fantastic cafe with lots of choice for everyone. Being vegan it's sometimes difficult eating out but at the Valley Gardens I had several choices plus cake and non dairy milk for my tea.A beautiful location in the park, dogs are very welcome too. A definite must visit!
