Hive Coffee Company in South Tyneside

The food was very nice and well presented but unfortunately my biggest takeaway from the experience was the system and wait times in which the food and drink is served to you.We got told a half hour wait for coffee and a sausage sandwich, which is fair enough..... but to take over an hour was frustrating to say the least. The lady could at least quickly serve up the coffees while we waited for the food, but somehow it took around 20 minutes for the coffees.Overall a lovely place in a great setting and the staff were friendly and polite, however the system needs looking at in terms of wait times.

This is an absolute hidden gem in Jarrow. I've been going here since Hive took over and they have transformed the café. Food is always excellent quality and fantastic choice. Great choice of vegan and gluten free options. All staff who work there are warm, welcoming and friendly. They welcome dogs which is great.

Customer service is always very dire. Staff are stroppy and unable to bend to support loyal patrons. I've spent a fortune there and they refused to let my child use the toilet because they'd cleaned them. I got a big speech about health and safety, which was basically a jobs worth being awkward. Having ran similar businesses in the past, I found this pathetic and I'm not spending another penny with The Hive now.

They cater for everyone here. At popular times if you want a table indoors you are best to call and book a table. My favourite which is in the picture is the bees pollen latte with dairy free milk and cream, yum

A lovely place, great food & drinks & great for the kids

Great cafe, lots of vegan options, very tasty and good service. Very busy (we booked). It's in the grounds of the Bede museum and next to a little park and the river.

Hive coffee company is the best place for anything from a quick coffee an afternoon natter ovw cake or picking something up on the go. Sandwiches and salads on offer are ever changing and the baked items O-MGEEEE They are something else. Always vegan and veggie friendly options. A must is their afternoon tea! It is divine! (book in advance) staff are always friendly and helpful nothing is too much oh and the place is doggo friendly!!!! How many more boxes can be ticked! One of my favourites!

Absolutely love this place, been back here more than a handful of times. Some of the best tasting coffee in the area, and the food is always fresh and tasty. The menu is always getting updated with new things as specials. Service has always been perfect. And the location is spot on, sitting outside is just the best. Also, PLENTY vegan options which is so hard to find! BEST vegan chocolate cake ever!
