Visited yesterday and was quite busy. We were advised that the wait for lunch was around 1 hour which we were happy to wait for. We ordered drinks and the lager went off and I was asked to sit down and drink would be brought over. After 10 mins I went back to bar where my drink was still standing and asked if I could get this. The guy didn't even recognise me ( so don't know how he was bringing my drink over!!) Food arrived with no vegetables which we had to ask for about 5 mins after lunch arrived, when they did arrive looked like scraps they had left in bottom of pan.Then actually choked on string that had been left on pork.

Went for a quick pint then decided to eat the Beer battered Fish and Chips which was very nice, seems clean and tidy and nice decor. However toilets could do with an upgrade.

We have been here a few times as its such a nice place with a relaxed atmosphere and we enjoy the live music too. Nice welcome and lovely staff. Nothing too much trouble.We are often at South Shields and love the views of the beach from here, it's right on the front. Great in the Summer too as has lovely outdoor seating area and music on.We have just had an amazing Sunday lunch on our last visit, lovely tender beef and all the trimmings and listened to Dean, who was a talented singer and guitarist, varied material. A great place. Will be back again soon.

On a Monday night, when there were less than ten customers we waited half an hour for a bowl chips. They were simply awful, burnt and yet dripping in fat.The barman said they were tanned.His trench humour earns a two star review instead of one.

Lovely views over the beach. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Staff very helpful. Dogs allowed inside. Lovely outside seating for the summer too

This was a great place to go especially as it was windy and rain. We only called for a coffee and to watch the sea but was amazed at how many people were there, especially for dog lovers who were certainly welcomed with bowls of water and sheltered from the weather in the room that seemed to cater for them. I myself have no pets but wasn't put off by their well behaved other halves 🤣

Good food and drinks, dog friendly and a relaxed atmosphere. Right on the beach front with plenty of outdoor seating spaces.

Had a casual drink and loved the ambiance. Lockdown has been tough but has brought benefits. The beer garden wouldn't be out of place in Spain. A table service fit for France. And really friendly staff. That's before I mention the wide selection of drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Pub half empty (if that), most people just having drinks and we were told there's an hour waiting time for food...And to the owner: five tables ocupied on the top deck, amost empty inside. There wouldn't be a problem if we were told about waiting time when ordering drinks and asking for a menu. We would have left as we were hungry. But we were told about it after drinks were served. So the option was leave the drinks on the table and leave the pub or just politely pay for the drinks, drink them quickly and then leave.
