Never eaten here but for drinks and service alone this place is great! The interior decor is so cosy and modern. The staff are always a laugh and so friendly which you don't get much behind bars anymore. Will always call back when I'm visiting shields!

Lunch for a group of 32 ladies. We pre ordered our meals, we paid for our drinks at the bar. It all went as smooth as clockwork. Food and service was excellent. I would highly recommend this venue. Your staff including Emma who looked after us are a credit to you.

Called in today with 6 other work colleagues as we noticed they had a new menu, worst decision ever, the food was terrible. I opted for the fish and chips, big mistake as it was all batter hardly any fish in it, the chips were hard and tasteless no matter how much salt and vinegar I put on. The mince and onion suet was dry and the gravy had a skin on. The rest had burgers that were at best cremated. Never again.

Nice decor, good, reasonably priced food. We had a burgers and they were tasty and nicely presented on the plate. Would recommend. The bathrooms could be a tad better, but that's really the only thing I wasn't totally happy about. I'd come back for a burger anytime.

Visited the New Sundial by the South Shields coast and I was impressed, to say the least. The place was pleasant and inviting but not pretentious. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was excellent quality, came out fast and was good value for money. Would recommend to anyone visiting the South Tyneside seaside/shoreline.

Today we had our early Christmas dinner as it is the only day this year we would be together as a family. The Chef and staff went to lengths to make it a special day for us. So, thankyou very much New Sundial and yes we will be back.

We actually went to the Function Suite at the Sundial and only had a quick look in the bar, it looked very large and well spaced out. The Function Suite is upstairs, another large, well decorated room, with an outside balcony. I assume the buffet was made in house which was very good. The bar is in the Function Suite with the toilets just off, so your not up and down the stairs all night. Well worth using if you're looking for a place.
