Superb food excellent staff. Closing down 20 Feb 2022 as the council has plans to build something & that means The Raj building has to come down after 27 years of being in business. The council should be ashamed of themselves! Thats what you get for having a Labour Council

Good food & great service from the staff. Highly recommended and well worth a visit. You will enjoy the food and the atmosphere.Tonight Sunday 20th Feb 2022 is the last night as the building has been purchased by South Tyneside council for demolition. The 27 year old family owned business after surviving the Covid closedown has been destroyed by a shameless Labour council who should be ashamed of themselves for doing this. Thanks to all of the staff past & present for superb service & superb food. Goodybye The Raj gone but never forgotten.

After visiting the restaurant many times always had great food and exceptional customer service one of the best in Shields for good service. We had a slight problem with our takeaway a couple weeks ago and Ali sorted it out completely for us hassle free thank you. Highly recommend this restaurant and all the staff are very friendly, respectful with excellent mannerism.

We have used this restaurant as a take away for so many years now and I still believe it's the best. The only negative regarding the food is the amount of prawns in my king prawn madras. Six prawns isn't enough in such a tasty meal. Also I wish they delivered. Other than that 'The Raj' still stays my favourite!

Visited this restaurant this evening meal was fabulous. Very relaxed atmosphere, staff very friendly. Excellent service safety measures in place eg seating arrangements, new bottles of hand gel placed on our table when we arrived and staff cleaned door handles etc regularly. We will definitely return to this restaurant
