Visited 19 March on a beautiful sunny day at lunchtime, so was very busy. Paid for carvery at the bar and was warned short of staff so may have to wait. Lass doing carvery was also cooking other food from menu and was on her own. The meal was great despite the staff being run off their feet & I'd certainly return next time I'm in the area.

Took shelter in here from the rain and ended up having a bite to eat. Roast beef sarny with chips and gravy was a belly buster. Good value. Very dog friendly with a 'doggy menu'. Free dog snacks on the bar. Definitely go again.

This is a pub/restaurant that has been here a long time. Even though at one time I lived within walking distance this is the first time of trying. Made out of 2 old railway carriages with a building in-between. Inside a good space around the bar with seating in one of the carriages and the main building leading to a conservatory/sunroom area. Good helpful staff behind the bar as are the majority of places these days. Worth a visit during the winter months when its quiet. I had the foot long hot dog, not overly impressed, one of these free from things.

Beautiful daily carvery, modern but cosy decor, great location right on the edge of the sand dunes, large outdoor areas with beautiful views of the beach/sea. Loved the added touches of board games to use at tables whilst having a drink or after dining and dog blankets to use so your furry friends can curl up on the seats beside you. Only reason I've rated 4 star and not 5 is the car park on the grounds of platform 33 isn't the cheapest and correct change needed for exact time periods or money is lost

Moved to South Shields recently and have eaten here on several occasions. The carvery is superb, the staff are really friendly and John the head chef is a star. Lovely pub with character and good food.

Platform 33 was lovely the food was lovely and the staff very nice, it had a really nice atmosphere you can even take your dog, isn't that brilliant. I would definitely go again and you don't have to book . Winner Winner x

The children had a great time and waiter/waitress service was very good. Picnic tables are too low for adults to sit comfortably though.

Carvery was amazing, it’s brought to the table (during these covid times) but wow, loads of food and a huge gravy boat along with it 😋😋😋 and there’s a dogs menu for ice (she had sausages🐶)
