I sometimes order to collect my food. Tonight when i ordered, the girl who I spoke to on the phone was quite rude, unhelpful and I felt rushed on the phone. (Sunday 23rd Jan) When I came to collect my food, a member of staff acknowledged and greeted me straight away. Whilst I was waiting for my food being brought out, I couldn't help but notice some of the staff members faces whilst serving other guests. They looked like they didn't want to be there. Maybe they were just having a bad evening. However I can not, knock the food, it was and is always absolutely spot on! It is consistently good whatever you choose to eat, whether eating in or taking out. Shame they didn't deliver they would make a fortune!

Fantastic Italian restaurant, just like I remember from years ago. Great food at proper prices.Family friendly with a great atmosphere. Everything run like clockwork as the boss had his eye on the whole operation and it really made a difference. Highly recommended 🙂

I had a lovely meal during happy hour. The place had a roaring fire and was packed with families, friends and couples all having a pleasant meal downstairs while an event went on upstairs. There were good portion sizes of lovely fresh cooked food with efficient friendly service. I heard it has won the Parmo competition again. Go visit it to see for yourself how good it is.

So disappointed! I don't have a single good thing to say about this place. So over crowded, we could barely sit down without bumping into the people on the table behind us. The tables and chairs were constantly being moved around during our visit, lifting chairs over our heads we were continuously being bumped into as there was just no space. The staff seemed as though they didn't want to be there, it was a nightmare to get their attention to orders drinks, food and even to pay! The garlic bread was disgusting, tasted like batter from the fish shop. The pizzas were very disappointing. 3 of us ordered parmos (award winning apparently) these were clearly just reheated and not well because all 3 came out cold. Everything was covered in grease, not just the food but the bottoms of the plates and the sauce dishes to. It was just an all round awful experience.

Borge's what could I say? It is normally always amazing food. There was a party of 15 of us and we were seated upstairs. Greeted perfectly and drinks ordered and then we ordered starters and mains. Starters were spot on. Amazing tastes. Unfortunately one of the little girls in our party was sick and the staff had little consideration for the little girl in question. They just wanted to put the food down on the table or on the bar near the table and let it go cold. There was no 'we will hold it and reheat it for you' they did help clean up the mess. After that part of our party had left so the rest of us got the mains everyone's mains. Perfect clean plates. A few of us had desserts and all were great, unfortunately I didn't get what I ordered. I had ordered a sticky toffee sponge pudding and what they actually tried to give me was a golden syrup sponge cake not thinking I would know the difference. But upon bringing our issues up with the manger, he was very apologetic and did also give us a bottle of wine to make up for it. To summarize I would still recommend borge the food was great and always good value for money with the portion sizes. It was clean and tidy. The food was served quickly and it was tasty. On the other hand the staff could have shown some more empathy.

I tried to book the function room on the evening of 29th October and whoever was on the phone was extremely rude to my mother. On the first phone call when I rang to enquire and mentioned I had tried to contact through their messenger service and website contact form to no response I was told “it depends who is in the office”, no apology having had no response for a few weeks.We were later told abruptly that they were “scribbling us out of the book” when saying we were looking for 50 guests instead of 70 (which was not mentioned previously to myself as the girl rudely told my mother that she had (she hadn’t) and also despite the website stating 50 guests can be catered for on a particular buffet option which we would have been happy to pay for). Maybe update your website then?Perhaps more effort needs to be put into customer service and communication as we are certainly not going to choose this venue now. Really disappointed as we had heard good things about them prior to this and having attended many work Christmas nights were there were less than the “70 people”.Working in psychological & mental health services (& previously in retail) I am always mindful of the way I speak to others which means I always talk politely, perhaps the girl was having a bad night? Otherwise simply unhelpful and rude customer service.
