Elmwood Tea Room in Stockton-on-Tees

A great place to hold that special afternoon tea party. I had afternoon tea for approx 27 friends and family and I can’t tell you how delighted I was with every aspect- service was great, cake and sandwiches delicious and as much tea and coffee as required. I can’t recommend this tea room highly enough - lovely to support a small local business!

Hot food was ok. But fresh cream and jam scone are amazing. Next time will definitely try the afternoon tea. Service was great !!

Just had afternoon tea at Elmwood Tea Rooms for my Father's Birthday, everything was excellent, delicious fresh sandwiches, gorgeous cakes and fresh cream scones with plenty of Ringtons tea.Lovely traditional tea room with fireplace, vintage cups and saucers with tea plates and excellent friendly service. First time we've been and definitely will be back! Thank you for a lovely time!

This was my 2st time here and I must say it was absolutely beautiful, the menu is small as you would expect for "Tea rooms" however there is quite a good range of refreshments and meals to be had, its decor is very calming and it wasn't too busy when I went, (14.30) the service was perfect and the food that came was so tasty, all cooked on premises (of course) and freshly prepared. If your in the area of Hartburn please do pop in and give this quaint little tea room a visit, 5* + from me

Booked for a baby shower event. Cancelled the booking a week before the event. No apologies. Said it was due to last minute refurbishment. Only got told this due to me contacting them for menu choices . Or else i wouldn't have known!!! Highly disappointed. Don't recommend as the owner then lied about cancelling the booking due to menu choices. Then gave excuses about not having a firm booking even though he emailed me responding to my menu choices stating my " booking " was cancelled. Won't be returning.

The staff were fantastic and the afternoon tea was very good value for money. Nothing was too much trouble £10 per person. Everything home made recommend a visit.

Excellent afternoon tea, £10pp and coffee and tea refills, friendly staff who were happy to help out with out sandwich choices.

The waiter was very keen, well-mannered, efficient and welcoming. I asked for a cup of hot water at the start of our visit and he offered a slice of lemon with it.I had their cream tea special (pot of tea and a freshly-baked-while-you-wait scone) which is very reasonably priced. My husband had a chicken, bacon and brie panini which was served with 2 different fresh salads and was scrumptious. He also had their deluxe hot chocolate.Full marks for the food and service - it's the bathroom that let them down (could be better maintained). I would recommend it for the food, atmosphere and especially, the service.
