Visited today on the 26/3/22. Waited far to long for our meals , in fact it was over a hour. When food arrived it wasn’t in many cases as specified in the menu. I myself got a ploughman’s with fries £3 for the fries that were skinny oven cooked chips. The meal had slices of bread scattered about the chopping board in which it was served, this I believe was to hide the fact there wasn’t much on to actually eat. A scotch egg few slices of cheese and chutney. The rest of the food was donated to me by family members. 6 adults and 3 children, not one of us were happy with our meals. I truly wish we had never paid. In all food was ok to not good, waited far to long and food was not value for money. Living off past reputation this place should be ready to close its doors. Please avoid unless u just want a pint and a bag of nuts. 👌

Loved this place. The service was great and so was the food. Had to wait slightly longer than anticipated for food but when it came, it was lovely.I put this down to how busy it was at the time of our visit.

Not brilliant to be honest, waited for an hour to be served after ordering our meal. The young waitress serving us had plainly had no training whatsoever , so much so l felt sorry for her. Food wasn't too bad but tainted by the service. Won't be rushing back I'm afraid.

Met some friends for lunch today who we haven't seen for ages. Received a lovely welcome from the staff as soon as we walked through the door. They gave us plenty of time to look at the menu. I had a brisket bun with chunky chips and gravy. It was lovely the brisket just melted in my mouth and the chips were to die for. We sat and chatted for nearly 3 hours. It was a great catch up in lovely surroundings.

Lovely walk to Thorpe Thewles to have lunch. I tried the parmo platter which was fantastic, with chunky chips. Other meals also looked nice and good size portions. Staff are lovely and really attentive. Massive bonus is that dogs are allowed so lovely spot to pop in if you've been out for a walk with the pooch. Would definitely recommend.

Great venue, friendly team, nice quality food, good selection on the menu. Excellent drinks range, nice atmosphere in the bar area with an open fire. Dog friendly in all areas, and you can book table's.

Beautiful traditional pub with large interior and a cosy feel. Good food with a varied menu and reasonable prices. Recommend the brisket, veggie parmo, and veggie risotto. Was a bit chilly where we were sat. Nice outdoor booths seem but not sure if heated. Recommend

Just had lunch with the family 27th Dec. Staff very friendly. The pub was freezing, no heating or fires. Very busy, we did book in advance, waited an hour for our food. Sorry, but not impressed, steak n ale pie, meat gorgeous, veg was rock hard and small blob of mash. Husband said his parmisan wasn't very nice too. Shame as its such a nice pub, 3rd time over a year I've not been impressed with the food. I keep giving it a chance. But not any more.....up date.... 2 days later I've noticed the owners respond to nice comments only....even why its was so cold that day would have been nice to know why
