Very nice fish and chips! Curry sauce was also very tasty! Gluten free fish was brilliant and service was really fast (especially considering its the busiest day of the year)

I ordered last week on a Thursday and I think the man frying was called pat but I’m not sure. The fish was beautiful, cooked very well and the chips were lovely too. Onion rings were lovely and crunchy and the kids enjoyed their meals too.So tonight we decided to visit again (Friday night) we pre ordered to save time queueing and we ordered 2 fish and chips. One battered burger in a bun, kids meal and a kebab. Another guy was frying tonight and all I can suggest is put the apron down, cooking isnt for you.We still ended up having to queue for a good 10 minutes due to unorganised staff. The fish was fresh and lovely which is such a shame because the batter was slimy, flat and full of oil. The chips were dark, some burnt and they were dry and very unpleasant. The onion rings were the same, it was like someone wrapped a soggy pancake around my food instead of crunch batter. The only place this order was fit for was the bin.All together it was really unpleasant and I will not be returning. Such a shame after trying before and having a nice experience but the guy cooking tonight clearly isn’t made to be in a kitchen and I have no wish to ever eat his dishes again.Quality of the produce is fantastic but your Friday chef belongs on kitchen nightmares and your staff could use some training in efficient service.

Ordered at just past 6 and came 8.35 what came was the wrong order completely! I understand that they were busy and these things happen but what we got delivered (wrongly as we ordered cod and chips twice and a patty) looked inedible! Cheese chips completely stuck to the paper, sausage that was still oinking and a burger so hard it offered me out. We were offered a refund or a replacement the next day but looking at what turned up, we have sought a refund.

This is a lovely fish bar. Portion sizes are good. Queues are not too long. The food is always really hot. There is a wide range of offers on the menu. Check out their potato fritters which are lovely slices of potato in a nice light crispy batter cooked fresh to order.

Absolutely awful, we usually use Fridays in Eaglescliffe which is fantastic but due to laziness thought we'd try our local chippy. Fish was overcooked, batter was rock hard, will not be using this chip shop again.
