Li Wah Restaurant in Stockton-on-Tees

I have used Li Wah as long as I can remember and has always been excellent. However tonight was my last ever time using them. We phoned to place an order for takeaway and was told to collect it round the back( even though all covid measures have been dropped) turns up when told to do so 20 minutes later and sat in car for a further 25 minutes!!! When the order is finally brought out she says cash only round the back...which we were not informed of when placing order. So she says give me your bank card and I will take it through and tap it on the machine herself (I don't think so!!!) Anyway we ended up driving away without food and never to return!!!!

Delicious great value food at this restaurant that is an old establishment here in Billingham. The owner told me they've had the restaurant 50 years!We went at the end of the lunch on a Saturday and there were 4 other tables so there was a nice relaxed ambience.The lunch menu is incredible value, 3 courses for 6.50. Mum & dad had soup of the day (minestrone with bread roll), beef with vegetables, battered prawns and chips, ice cream and pineapple. I had a main off the normal menu - peking beef (doesn't come battered/crispy) with chips. We had teaa for drinks.We were really looked after and the final bill was extremely reasonable. Really recommend coming for a casual weekend lunch and supporting this local establishment

Food still good but portions seem a lot smaller.

Dreary interior, salt, pepper etc on table in plastic food tub like a greasy spoon cafReally miserable male waiter with no customer care skills or manners.Constant noise from shouting drunks from pub below.ExpensiveGood points : food was very nice and good portionsButWe won't be going again 😒
