Went at 8pm on a Saturday and the place was practically empty. Wait staff were polite enough, if not a little abrupt. Food was mixed. Dough balls were good. Arancini would have been incredible but it inexplicably had a few peas and carrots in it (the kind that come from a bag of mixed, frozen veg). Carbonara had a perfect poached egg but the sauce was thin and a bit milky. The prawn pasta was just OK. Both pasta dishes were really over cooked to the point of it being the texture of tinned spaghetti. Wine was slightly warm and the pint of Amstel was a bit flat. For 50 quid for 2 courses and a drink each, it wasn't priced badly. I have to mention the music which was bizarre for a restaurant; really loud dance music - perhaps they're trying to go for a bar feel on a weekend night but it doesn't work. All in all, I wouldn't recommend or return as unfortunately for Scrann, there are much better Italian restaurants in Teesside and much better restaurants in Norton in general.

This is the second time I've been to Scrann, the first was a quiet evening before a quiz night, and the other week when we went at lunch time, just as it opened. The food is fantastic, my friend adored the theme and music. However I've been twice now when the place is almost empty and the food takes forever to come out! Luckily, it is worth the wait.Very tasty, give it a try.

Okay this place was SO GOOD! I got a spaghetti and chicken dish; I don't normally love spaghetti but dish was fab. We also got some sourdough bread bites to share as a starter and I could've eaten them all day; they were so delicious!

We visited here for a wake on the 29th April and they put a buffet on and my god the food was exceptional. I normally feel that italians are all pretty much the same but scrann proved me wrong everything was sublime I would highly recommend and visit again even tho it is 30 minute drive from me

Disappointed. The food has massively shrank in size a adults dinner the size of a children's dinner. Some food hot on the plate some food cold on the plate. The Yorkshire puddings were tiny about the same size as a frozen small Yorkshire pudding you buy in the shops, They had no taste to them. The price they charge just didn't match up to the food they served won't be returning anytime soon.

The food was really good although it was fairly expensive, The staff members were all polite and friendly

Menu is varied with lots of exclusive twists on original dishes making it just that bit special. Service polite and prompt. Good atmosphere. Home made desserts were also lovely. Recommended!Barry Faulkner may be taking over Norton with 4 restaurants with number 5 on the way, but he's doing something right. They are all different and originaly refurbished to a very high standard and serve excellent food. Looking forward to eating at number 5 whatever he has dreamt up for this one.

Went here for the Sunday lunch menu and it was really good and excellent value for money. The inside deco is nice and cosy and as a large group we received excellent service in excellent timing too. I would highly recommend the meatball starter, beef main and brownie dessert myself and other members of the party enjoyed the pork and chicken mains and the strawberry cheesecake.

Oh my gosh I absolutely loved it here. The atmosphere was great and the food was to die for. Everything everyone ordered was so delicious we couldn’t stop tasting each other’s food! I am from America and if I don’t get to go here again before I leave I think I’ll cry.
