Shalimar Tandoori in Stockton-on-Tees

No idea what has happened, Shalimar was the best Indian takeaway the area in my opinion but has recently gone down hill. We have given it a chance but on the last 4 occasions the curry's have been poor, very bland and trays only half full. Will be trying somewhere else until I hear better reports. Hope they can get it sorted out.

Honestly, I don't even know where to start 🤢. Only visited this place as bombay chilli was closed ... wish I have never ever even talked my partner into buying a takeaway ....If you like cheap, tastless mush that isn't fit for pig swill and is loaded in grease ... you might like this place. The chips also arrived in a cooplands butty van bag 🤷🏻‍♀️The manager is rude, ignorant, shouts over you and openly admitted if the curry and rice hadn't been mixed he would have given it to another customer later that day. You probably think I'm lying, I wish I was.Hasn't closed the order off on justeat . They say cooked fresh from scratch but was with me within 15 mins 🤔 suspicious.

Order from here as me and my partner use to love the food however the food has not arrived and it said our food as arrived but this information is incorrect. I can not get in contact with just eat or restaurant as there are both closed! This is absolutely unacceptable will NEVER be wasting my money on this scam of a place ever again! Don't order anything for this place

Was looking forward to shalimar opening back up as my favourite takeaway.Very disappointed chicken was shredded and only just warm .Not sure if the have gotten a new chef if so bring the old one back

Only reason I'm giving a 1star is u can't give zero, we ordered 2 meals and we now have food poisoning, been ill all day, it definitely did not taste like chicken, its a good job we didn't finish the meals we would've ended up in hospital, DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE !!!

Waited over 2.5 hours - line engaged all of the time so couldn’t follow up.Food eventually turned up cold! Will not be using again - shame as I have been using for years 🤮

Ordered tonight no salad or no yogurt dip and waited nearly 2 hours... Impossible to get through on phone also ordered garlic naan bread only got plain

Chicken balti tonight 6th September 2021.Only just warm. Tasted of???? Well who knows but it certainly wasn't Balti. Loads of onions so more like a dopiaza. Not chicken breast but shredded chicken obviously from another dish. It was awful.Only ordered from here as my partner wanted something he likes from there!!I won't be back - very poor and not at all value for money.

As always the curries were delicious. Far superior to any ready meal you might think is good. Meals are always ready on time and the staff are friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Simply awful. We have used this place a few times over the years and generally found it to be reasonable, but nothing exceptional. The chicken moglai had a extremely pungent fishy taste to it with a very watery consistency sauce, that had a lot of grease/oil floating on the surface. We all tried it and it was so bad, that it went in the bin. The pilau rice was also very oily/greasy, with none of the nice fragrance that usually comes with pilau rice. The popadoms had a very distinctive taste of stale fat. The karahi chicken tikka dish was reasonable. Also when placing the order on the phone we were told that it would be ready in 15 minutes. So, this is "freshly cooked" from scratch in 15 minutes - really? Most definitely will not be returning.
