Best drinks menu in the village, on a rotation. Staff are always up for a chat and a laugh. Music always varied, staff happy to change playlist if requested. Off premises food accepted. Plus. Doggy social.7 out of 5. Would drink again.

Fantastic pub with great atmosphere!Lots of different choices with a good variation between Cameron’s and non-Cameron’s products on draft. Staff are very knowledgable and friendly when asked about drinks, and are more than happy to offer their own recommendations! Good choice of spirits as well for non-beer drinkers, especially the gin! Also love all the different cans they have on offer. Prices are very similar to the rest of Norton, but by far has the best vibe!Being dog friendly is brilliant, and their special dog events have a great atmosphere, including treats for both dogs and humans! Overall fantastic pub, would recommend 100% if you’re in Norton village!

Good pub with a good fridge and knowledgeable staff, but like the rest of the Head Of Steam chain Cameron's haven't done it any favours. No longer does food and most of the draft choices are Cameron's offerings. Was infinitely better when they still did food, prices are over the top considering the range compared to other bars in the area. Still a good pub, but could be so much better.

Far too many pubs these days offer only the usual type of humdrum beers you would expect to find everywhere.Basic Bitter, Lame Lager & Mild Mild…Not awfully inspiring for the appreciators of REAL ALE…I was wondering why the average alcohol emporium had become so bland and uninteresting.But then I stumbled upon The Head Of Steam in Norton a couple of weeks ago and I raise a glass to their ingenuity.What I discovered was a very welcome change to the norm.What is it about The Head Of Steam which has the ability to put a tick in every possible box?I’d say it’s their ability to break away from the boring, swap some letters around and end up with Daring.It’s warm, inviting and tastefully decorated with lots of interesting ornaments, curiosities and signs on the walls.The lighting is soft and subdued and the general ambience of the place has a unique buzz of people enjoying the oasis they’ve discovered.The selection of beer is just stunning and very well selected for the discerning drinker.There is an amazing array of bottled beers from overseas each served correctly and properly with a corresponding branded glass.Would you believe they also have a canning machine to enable customers to take their favourite pint home!!!If I lived nearby this would be my regular haunt.Sadly it’s a good half hours’ drive for me but I make an effort to secure multiple Brownie points with my Wife in order that she kindly chauffeur’s on the journey home.I cannot praise them enough.One day ALL Pubs will be run this way..Top marks for The Head Of Steam.

Great range of beers on draught and a modern ambiance

Good atmosphere and an authentic look. I appreciate the style and references held within regarding the areas heritage with the rail industry and the likes.The drinks are reasonably priced. I've only visited twice. The first time we had a meal and the food was great. The second time, a long time after, we were told they had stopped serving food. This was a big disappointment as the food the first time was a big draw for the second visit and it cut our time there short as the group were all starving and had to go elsewhere to eat.
