The Purple Pig in Stockton-on-Tees

Went to The Purple Peacock for afternoon tea. Service was poor. Got there 10 minutes early and we were asked to sit in the lounge while they got the table ready, then they would call us through. We were still sat there 20 minutes later, they forgot about us. When we sat down, there was only 3 plates on the table with some cutlery and an empty salt dispenser. The coffee was cold and we had to find our own sugar as the staff disappeared. The scones were that hard and dry, you could have broken a window with them and the cup cakes were also dry and tasteless. Would not return and would not recommend.

I came for an Afternoon Tea with my 19 year old son for his Birthday yesterday and we loved it.Lovely staff and surroundings . I also came for the Christmas Grinch afternoon tea and my daughter and me loved it .The quality of food is always first class and a lovely treat .The Parkmore is such a special place . I had my sons christening reception here .

Excellent Champaign Drunch, champagne flowed for 90 mins no problems with top ups, such good value. Great food and atmosphere, staff great and our waitress Lily was a star.

Recently booked a table at the Purple Peacock for my daughters 13th birthday for her and 9 friends and both the food and service was amazing!! The young girl who served us throughout the evening couldn't have been more helpful. The girls were very impressed with the portion size of there pizza and cheesy garlic bread. Would definitely recommend the Thai fishcakes!! Will definitely be booking in again soon.

We attended the restaurant as a group for a Christmas get together. Unfortunately the experience was just not great. We took a long time to get and drinks, even once we’d ordered it took a long time. Food was pretty quick, but again disappointing as it seemed lots was made from frozen and quite soggy. Thai red curry was bland. Best thing was the cheese pizza one of the girls ordered. The place is really pretty, there was just no staff, slow drinks service and pretty poor food. Out of the 8 of us, none will be returning.

Food very nice. Especially the tasty sandwiches for vegetarian. Generous portions and boxes to take home spare cakes. Unlimited tea and milk refills. Good value and free plentiful parking. Only downsides, not clotted cream with thescones and venue so loud and echoey especially with loud groups in, we struggled to hear each other and there were only 3 of us!!

After spending a couple of relaxing hours in the spa we went to enjoy our afternoon tea. We were offered tea/coffee straight away whilst we waited for another friend to join us, and then they brought our food out.I had phoned and said one person did not like fruit scones, so plain scones were also included.The food was delicious and constant refills of tea and coffee.My only downside was we booked for 1:15, food arrived about 1:30, at 2:30, we were asked to vacate the table in time for another booking at 3:00, which I felt was a bit quick. Just a tiny negative to an otherwise great experience.

On Saturday we booked for Drunch. The afternoon was a girls catch up that we have once a month. We hadn’t been to the Purple Peacock before but we had an amazing time. The food was outstanding, the service was amazing, the staff were extremely friendly - especially Wayne and our waitress (sorry I didn’t catch name but she was on a trial) - making sure our glasses were always topped up! We will certainly be back! Thank you so much!

I would like to appreciate the most amazing and friendly young sweet staff ever, I didn’t catch her name but I think her name is Daisy, Jazzy or Jaithy! She was so helpful and kind to us. The afternoon tea was amazing as well. Must try because the customer service met my expectations.

We went here for the drunch deal. It was amazing from start to finish. Our server Eleanor was absolutely fantastic. So attentive, made sure we had the best time and she was literally the best girl! Thank you to Eleanor for making our experience amazing! You defo deserve some recognition for your outstanding customer service.
