Carter & Fitch in Sunderland

Lovely staff but incredibly slow drinks service . Very over priced and although we did have cocktails, for what is essentially a Wetherspoons I'm sorry but this was not value for money.

I've ordered from here a few times and the food is always good. I tried the vegan burger and it is excellent definitely one of the better vegan burgers I have tried.The reason for the 3/5 I decided to visit in person, the food was still good but not what I have had in the past and the service was incredibly slow.Other than that the staff are friendly and the food is good. It is a little overpriced but I have neve never been disappointed yet so I am happy to pay.

Had the smokehouse platter, was absolutely lovely and there was plenty for 2 of us. Staff was polite and friendly, looking around at other people's dishes you get a good size portion for the cost so definitely value for money.Sunday roast looked amazing.

Visited the restaurant that is part of The George Washington Hotel. Food was excellent we had steaks from the grill which were cooked perfectly, and finished with the cheese plater. Location is great and Robyn the waitress was so helpful, polite and very courteous, she was a credit to the place. Would definately come vack again!

With Hotel. Food is good quality and service was nice enough. However, seems like a mixture of bar and table service which leads to the staff not being very responsive.

One of the best places for Sunday Lunch. Went with hubby. The pork was amazing and the crackling even better. And as for the deep fried cauliflower... delicious. Service was friendly. We will definitely be back xx

Staying in the adjacent hotel and thought I’d dine locally. The restaurant is clean, spacious and fairly modern. The serving staff are young and inexperienced. Main course came out with cold burger and no cutlery. There was a hair in my salad, complained to waiting staff and didn’t hear anything back from them. Generally over priced, the food is motorway services standard, waiting staff inexperienced. I won’t be rushing back

Excellent food, good value for money, friendly staff welcoming environment. I can't praise this place enough.

The afternoon tea itself was lovely but there were only 3 tables full of people in the whole restaurant (us included) and we were sat on a table by the door with everyone coming and going and staff walking past us. I asked to move and while all the booths were empty we were still moved to a table in a bad position. No cutlery or napkins were provided so we had to take them from other tables but other than this it was nice. Sandwiches were lovely, as were all the sweet treats, and the clotted cream is to die for.
