Good Taste Chinese Takeaway in Sunderland

Used to be one of the best takeaway places, ordered last night and it was absolutely terrible. The chips tasted like they were fried early, and then re-fried for order, either that or they desperately need to change their oil.

Ordered from here tonight for a Collection told to go up at 9 went up not ready said another 45 mins went back then still had to wait. Went home totally wrong order had to go back so in total nearly 4 1/2 hours to get my chinese absolute joke never use these again after this carry on

So pleased we came across "Good Taste Chinese Takeaway" I can't fault the food and polite service...although the delivery time was a little longer than I'd expected I was already forewarned whilst placing my order. My husband and I both agree we have discovered our new favourite Chinese Takeaway 🤗 Just to add, we ordered again and were informed that while paying for our previous order my husband had paid with new notes and instead of two ten pounds he had accidentally given three and they would take the ten pounds off the price...we had no idea we overpaid. Great service and honest staff.

Ordered from here tonight & they got my order wrong, I ordered sweet & sour chicken in sauce and when I got home I had sweet and sour chicken balls in my bag which may I just say I wouldn’t have complained if inside my chicken balls weren’t pink & soggy, we also got 1/4 duck, which is just lots of burnt fatty bits from a duck. Ah and it’s Not stopping their! We also ordered chrispy won tons well infact these have no meat inside and is just wonton Pastery fried! The owner of this Chinese never does anything when they get the order wrong as I have been told from others and found out for myself tonight how rude she is. At the end of the day yous made the mistake, yous should fix it. These are peoples treat meals yous are spoiling on a weekend please behave!! Their is so many 10/10 Chinese’s round here, don’t settle for the 01/10 one you’ll be disappointed. Greeedy woman owner.

Amazing... Best chinese gravy in town.... Salt n pepper chicken n salt n pepper chips r to die for... Chickenfried rice cant get any more in there cartons always bulging but plenty of chicken in it... Bit pricey but worth it x

Food is awesome and the staff extremely helpful and courteous. Never had a bad experience. Dont go anywhere else now xx

Would have gave a 5 this is our regular Chinese but a while ago my partner got a bone in the gravy this put us off. Tonight back to being a regular again got a last delivery n same has happened tonight gravy is best in Sunderland apart from the bone being in it. It could of been a small child eating this please be careful next time as a child might not be so lucky

I would give good taste 5 stars as we have always ate from here and food has always been outstanding. I have had to take one star off for the woman who answers the phone, she needs to realise she's not in the house where you can be slang and quite abrupt I think this woman must be losing this place some customers . Really sad actually that one person can have such a negative impact on a great business.

This is without a doubt the best tasting Chinese food in Sunderland. There is very little in it between this and the Fountain garden ( formerly of the Ming dynasty restaurant). Both offer superb Chinese cuisine, but in my opinion, the Good Taste just takes the prize.Both of these are very popular and as such both are extremely busy so to mark them down just because it took a long time for delivery is wrong, as you are told when calling that there is a delay. That said, I ordered from the fountain last week as Good Taste were on holiday and was told it would be ready in 1 hour. On arrival I almost got to the point of cancelling when after a further 45 mins I still had not received my order. I have never had that problem with the Good Taste.Having read reviews and visited most of the Chinese takeaway's around me i would suggest that the owners of these establishments, along with their clientele, visit either Good Taste or Fountain garden to discover what it is they are supposed to be serving and what it should taste like.

We recently moved to Ford area this Chinese is now just down the road from us. We used this Chinese on and of for about a year before we moved to Ford area. We use to Allways collect. The receptionist (girl on the phone is very rude, I often questioned if I had offended her in some way as she was often short when we went and ordered and short on the phone) the other week we decided to order and was told an hour for delivery even though this Chinese is less than 5 mins down the road. We waited over an hour 50 for food to come. It was cold. We then decided to phone order in and collect the following week. As soon as we did we were told over an hour to collect our food. This is ridicerlous iv never known an hour for food. Now we no longer use this Chinese due to the diabolical service of the women on the counter. And feeling like she has a problem with me. I would advice you not to use this place. Service has gone well down to what I remember.
