May Hong Chop Suey House in Sunderland

Place has gone right back. Used to look forward to a meal from there. Over past 3 month the meals have been terrible. Got crispy beef Cantonese sauce. Sauce didn't even cover the meal. Plus veg was soft not crispy. Also got special chow main. You would think it had been brushed with wallpaper paste. Never again.

got a basic curry rice n chips as couldn't be bothered to cook, curry was spicy for standard curry sauce n chips were really stale

Chicken fried rice and noodles are delicious. Same with prawn crackers. The chips are awfully overcooked in fried grease (so all potato practically replaced with grease) and wasn't expecting £1 a tub Makaway Curry. These 2 things drastically make me guttered as can deal with terrible chips, not cheap curry I have in my cupboard.

Normally very good food…last night however a Singapore chow meeting was like a phal curry, ended up in the bin, way too hot.

One of the best Chinese I have ever had. This has to be the longest established takeaway in Washington Tyne and wear and hands down the best. Sampled most of the menu over the years and never had a bad dish to date. Extremely busy so would recommend pre ordering as calling up the phone lines are normally jammed. They also now offer a delivery service on a weekend. If you have never tried this Chinese it's a must you will not be disappointed.

Really good Chinese food at good prices. They've been around for many many years and the reputation is well deserved. Good range of dishes & banquet options. Didn't used to deliver but think they now do which is a bonus. Even if not never had to wait more than 30 minutes to collect an order. It does get very busy though so stick with it if you can't get through straight away.

There is a reason why this is top rated we were working away in the area and had a takeaway based on reviews, best Chinese I've ever had and I've been all over the country salt and pepper chips were next level, Singapore chow mein spicy flavoursome just amazing and the spare ribs in pekingese sauce were next level the sauce was rich and tasty with onions and peppers overall faultless.Would highly recommend the food we ordered.
