Great stay really 5 star . Clean and tidy . Stayed 2 nights.BUT don't attempt to stay if the car your in isn't registered in your name. 2 x £ 100 fines for parking where we were staying 😅This was our 3rd stay here in the same type of car, never had a problem before.

Fantastic clean and tidy room bed was so comfortable breakfast was so nice staff was lovely too only thing is more more plug sockets or a mirror on the wardrobe as difficult as 2 lady's was getting ready at same time xx

There's no doubt that there is a reason Hotel Campanile is one of the cheapest hotels in the area. The hotel is very dated in its decor, design and facilities. It is really showing its age. However, it is also immaculately clean which is the most important thing. The staff were very friendly, approachable and went above and beyond to ensure guests were happy and had a pleasant stay. Will the coffee wasn't great, the breakfast was fantastic and I would highly recommend. The bed wasn't overly comfortable but at the same time did not mean I had a bad nights sleep. I would stay here again.

Now the rooms are quite dated now but as the hotel is a 3* and the cheapest around I was fully expecting that. One point is if you are disabled or struggle with mobility request a ground floor as no lift. If you were wanting a luxurious break then maybe this wouldn't be your first choice. But the reason I've left 5* is If you just need somewhere cheap and cheerful for a day or two then it's ideal. Staff were friendly, and the rooms were spotlessly clean and maintained. What more could you ask for.

Staff very attentive , my only complaint would be they let dogs in the resterant , room ok but a bit dated

This is a budget hotel that provides affordable stays whether visiting for funeral or a wedding this is the places to stay to keep control of your spending. The breakfast in the morning is very good. A full English breakfast if you want, or make it up as you feel fit, poached eggs on toast is a favourite I noticed. Richard the young morning Cook will manage whatever you want when you want it. Healthy weight conscious and satisfying. The staff bend over backwards to help and to make your stay a pleasant experience. The cleaners are on the corridors about 0930 they are very helpful they will refresh your towels or do a full room service. They are only too happy to replenish your hot drinks tray. I found the cleaners to be the best I've experienced anywhere. They are thorough and work without fuss. I'd recommend staying here for any event in Durham City, Newcastle City or Sunderland City the road network is easily negotiated. And all three Cities are not far away.

Excellent value for money. Slightly dated rooms but clean. Limited choice of food in the restaurant, really nice breakfast. Knowledgeable staff

I gave it 5 stars because of the wonderful staff, and the value for money.I called ahead, explaining my son is autistic with profound special needs. When we arrived, Bekka was on hand to greet us, and remembered our telephone conversation. My son was especially pleased with the big smile, and signed hello from her, she used his name, so he knew it was for him.The rooms are basic, cheap price = basic, to be expected. The staff, Gemma on our first very difficult breakfast attempt, was brilliant, moving us to a quiet area. Couldn't ask for more understanding, and compassion. So, 5 stars it is, and well deserved for the price, and wonderful staff.Thank you; I really appreciate the effort by all to make our stay comfortable, it wasn't perfect, but not for the lack of trying from you all. Kudos!!

There's literally nothing good that can be said about this place - twin rooms are so small and tiny that it feels like you're sharing a bed with your roommate, there's no way of pushing beds apart because of furniture and, as said before, rooms are way too small. It's a hassle and struggle to move.Breakfast? Probably the funniest part, chef spends about 30 minutes on each order, yet most of this breakfast comes from cheap, ALDI tins, including tomatoes - all of it looks like baby food and it's absolutely disgusting. Definitely won't be staying there again and don't recommend this place to nobody.

This is a reasonable hotel with plenty of facilities, the rooms are basic but that's not a problem for us, the bed was comfy the room was clean and the shower is amazing just a shame the shower curtain sticks to you and the shower is in a bath. The staff are friendly too, even got our bed made, bins emptied, coffee refulled and a toilet roll restock. However I'd often get a whiff of smoke in the corridors, not sure if this is because the windows are open in the hallways.
