Rustica Trattoria & Inn in Sunderland

For some reason, the meal just missed the mark.My wife's pizza looked very nice but it was a bit doughy and didn't have much of a tomato base. My pasta with prawns and chorizo again looked nice but the chorizo tasted more like simple ham and didn't have the paprika hit I was expecting. The garlic bread was more than enough for two but wasn't that garlicy. The service was decent although there was a mistake on the bill which they did accept and correct.I so wanted to really like this place but was left a little wanting.

Found by chance as stopping overnight locally on business trip. Do not be fooled by location or exterior. Inside is a lovely restaurant, excellent food and great value for money. The night we went we were looked after by 2 brilliant members of staff. Wil return if I area again

We've been twice recently to Rustica on Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere and food are excellent what a lovely place to relax and eat. Massive thanks to Charlotte and Carris for their excellent service

A little hidden gem, lovely restaurant and bar, plenty of outdoor seating. The risotto was beautiful, so was the lasagne and pizzas

The food was bland and tasteless. Some of the glasses were dirty, and two of our party were ill with stomach problems afterwards. Would not recommend.

Very overpriced, my Sunday lunch was wrong and missing items and when I questioned the staff about this they totally avoided the problem and said I could have chips, after agreeing to this at the end of the meal I found I had been charged for them. Shame I've been a few times before but this really put me off
