The Burn in Sunderland

The first time we have had a bad meal. Waited 2 hours to get our meal. Absolutely disgusting. Ordered a cowboy burger, cod, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter, cheesy garlic bread. When the order finally arrived it was the wrong burger, fish was burnt and dry, wrong peas, no bread & butter & plain garlic bread. When the correct burger came it was burnt on the edges and you couldn't bite it. The garlic bread was so hard it was inedible. Should have known when the two tables next to us received a refund for their meal.Very disappointed the meals have always been great

Got there late for carvery and the meats were dry cos they'd been a long time under the heat lamps. Yorkies weren't great. Cauli cheese and the gravy were lovely

The Burn is a local for me and it is a great place with fantastic food and delightful staff. Owner/Managers Alison and India are so lovely and friendly. Highly recommend to anyone for a nice drink and great atmosphere!

Rang to ask about booking a table for food as we were attending a show close by.Got told they just accept walk ins. We walked in literally 5 minutes later as we were just along the road when we called.Walked in got a table went to the bar asked how long the wait is on food. Got told she didn't know as there was an issue with a freezer. The lady went to the kitchen came back and said sorry we not taking food orders.Surely we could of been told this on the phone.Luckily we live nowhere near so no need to go back.

The Burn is one of the best establishments for the consumption of alcoholic beverage. The pub reminds me of the 1980s American sitcom Cheers. When you come in everyone knows your name and they glad you came.The staff are amazing, India, Natasha and Alison. They make the best steak and chips, that would make Gordon Ramsey weep with pure joy.Paddy.

Sunday carvery, service was very slow, serving staff chatting whilst the queue got bigger. Food was just OK.Place was clean and tidy and there was a nice children's area with some books and toys

The burn Inn Is an establishment in which I frequently purchase beverages of alcoholic nature and occasionally food of a potato based consistency. Very good very nice.It is certainly the burn indeed.

Came here for lunch! Greeted with a smile on arrival. Ordered the crispy chicken bbq baguette and it was unbelievable. The baguette was soft and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Definitely be back ☺️

Came for lunch with my sister, had the ultimate cheese burger and it was amazing! Most friendliest staff and always made to feel welcome

Local with beer garden area ( front patio). Dog friendly pub. Treats and water provided. Friendly staff with good beers. Must try the food soon.
