The Cross Keys in Sunderland

This is our 2nd visit to this hotel for lunch. Had to wait ages for a scone and tea. There were 4 of us. They gave us one pot of tea with 4 teabags in it and a pot of water. Tea was like tar and when pouring the tea it was spilling out all over the table. On our first visit we were unhappy with the food and made a complaint and on this visit, the elderly couple beside us also made a complaint about their lunch and had left most of it. They were told the same as us, so sorry, will pass your coments onto the relevant person. I dont think this is good enough. Because of this, we will not go back. Such a shame.

Great hotel right in Kelso town square, rooms great, staff very friendly a good bar and restaurant. Breakfast was plentiful and evening meals lovely.

Staff very helpful and pleasant and the breakfast was excellent. My room was a tad dated and unfortunately no shower just a bath. But would definitely recommend.

Friendly staff, very helpful, good size rooms, lovely comfy beds, huge bathroom, not the best shower by lots of hot water. Plenty of choice for breakfast but meal could have been warmer!

Lovely clean hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent location in the town.

We were a group of 25 sedate bikers stating here for 2 nights. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We wanted to eat together in the evenings and the front of house and kitchen staff went out of their way to make that happen. We had a very comfortable weekend

The room was clean albeit a little old fashioned which made the room for me a bit depressing but wouldn't stop me returning. Couldn't open the windows. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was superb with a great choice. Staff are so helpful and courteous, would definitely recommend.

The room was clean and comfortable, the evening meal especially the steak , was perfect and we had a lovely hot breakfast to start the journey home. The staff in the hotel were cheerful and helpful and especially the Restaurant staff on the Saturday night. Thank you All.

Hogmanay in Kelso, accommodation is clean and comfortable, the food at breakfast and the evening g meal was excellent. The service was amazing, friendly attentive and when my wife didn't like what she ordered they without any fuss changed the order. Will be back before new years 2022....

Stunning. Very relaxing. Had a nice coffee with family. Nice seating area. Sat by the window with a lovely view of the passers by. Kelso is a lovely town.
