Great pub good music and fair prices

Foods beautiful, all homemade hot and tasty. Sunday roasts are second to none. Night time this place comes alive, mostly middle aged people which was a nice surprise.

·

Went for Sunday lunch for 5 of us, the day after a match was on and they had been busy as we kept getting told.Practically no alcohol choice left, which you would assume they would order more in.Food not impressed waited nearly 40 minutes for them to take order, even then had to go and ask, got our food barely warm then had to wait for our veg to come which was mush asked for more gravy as there was only a tiny bit on plates , waited nearly 20 minutes for gravy and we were nearly finished food. Not be going back .

Pretty busy with the match but nice venue with plenty of bars to buy alcohol from so barely any queues.

It was really busy and all the staff were so pleasant and happy. Even the lady security guard. The food was amazing. I would definitely recommend.

Was in Sunderland for a gig on a Sunday night, and visited this place on the way back to the hotel. It's somewhat of a parallel universe, where the staff are more drunk than the customers, and the doorman sings Frank Sinatra to you on kareoke. Also when we asked what time it closed, we were met with the reply "NOT F'ING YET!" which honestly made my night.

Good people.. fantastic start.. and eventually a later.. I stopped for a few hours.. then I met another wife... although we split up after 5 hours. We'll keep in touch.. Next time I see her.. but her bridesmaids!!! Friends were nice as well...and because I was a good husband.. they look. Well... I like the bar☆☆☆☆☆

Beautiful room .. ideal for the small function

This is a nicely renovated bar, especially the newer bit which used to be the restaurant section. Shows live sports, food (which I have never tried so can't comment), and has a DJ on in evenings. Friendly staff. Male toilet was a bit worn and in need of a clean on my visit. Pretty bog standard boring beer offering, they need to get on board with the craft beer and real ale upsurge.
