Stir Restaurant - Maldron Hotel in Antrim

The quality of the food was awful but the worst thing was that, in the 3 course menu, I found in my 1st plate a bug and the 2nd one had a hair. Worst place ever.

Brought my Dad and family out for his birthday and worst food ever served. Totally inedible and cold. Turkey and ham was like cardboard and stuffing served between the two was like slime in your mouth. Beef was just lumps of fat and roast potatoes were frozen and so hard to cut they were like stones. Mashed potatoes were grey in colour and so stiff to eat you could chew them. Cauliflower stalks were served that are usually waste and certainly not expected to be eaten, asked for gravy in a jug for children and it was freezing. What should have been an enjoyable and memorable occasion for my Dad's birthday was an absolute disaster. How someone could call themselves a chef is beyond me when presenting food like this to paying customers. Don't know who is hiring these people as chefs but they must know nothing about food and quality. Stay well away from what is now called the Grain and Grill Restaurant at the Maldron Hotel, Portlaoise.

Refused to serve myself and 8 others... Said all tables were reserved. Very disappointed.

Placed on a dirty table which was never cleaned through out the time i stayed had chicken wings which are over priced and then the waiter brought the wrong food to me as my main still didnt wipe the table got dessert lemon merg which was terrible and clearly not made fresh or near fresh wouldnt waste ur money here youd get better food from the take away
