Gatto's Ristorante in Ballymena

Pros:• The food tastes pretty good• If you're getting takeaway, it's usually out on time (if not a few minutes wait)• Some of the staff are very friendly and professional, definitely nice peopleCons:• Expensive, and there have been two price increases recently• If you don't call for takeaway early then it'll be a long wait (I called at 5 and they said it would be ready by half 7, this happened multiple times)• The recipes change every so often, so if you order the same thing a week after the other they could be very different. The change is not always better and sometimes *tastes cheaper*• Everytime I've looked in it's been busy and full, so you aren't likely to get a seat unless you know when it isn't busy• I mentioned before that some of the staff are wonderful, the other half are a little awkward to work with (I personally don't mind this, as it isn't laziness and everyone is trying their best, but I know others might find this off-putting)• The portions have gotten smaller since the price has gone upOverall, pretty decent food if you can look past the high price, small portions and long wait times

Fantastic food! Big portions of pasta and gniochi . Well served and sesoned. Highly recomended!

It is definitely my favourite restaurant in Ballymena.The food is so tasty with great prices.The staff are always pleasant and helpful.

Dreadful service, I attempted to dine at Gattos tonight, firstly we were given water when seated waited a while then the waiter (I think was the manager) came to take a food order, we weren't even offered drinks. I ordered a starter combo and my partner ordered a pasta and we ordered 2 sides. Before I was even finished talking he was away. I had an incline something was to go wrong. Food came and it was just fritters. I stated that it was supposed to be the combo starter and before I could finish saying that we wanted all the food together, he was away again. The starter came. BY ITSELF AGAIN. My partner went up to the bar to ask if we could have the rest of the food out, as that Is what we intended.To be rudely told NO. Huh? I had enough and we both quickly left the premises and will not be returning again. ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS SERVICE!!

Only found out about this local spot yesterday and thought we'd give it a go. Very impressed with our meal.The food was excellent tasting and they had plenty of options on the menu. Every dish that was walked past us looked great. The pizzas are huge!The service was good and fairly fast. Everything was priced fairly too. Nice atmosphere, with lowered lighting and bustling of people. 100% will be making a return visit.

Amazing experience. From being greeted to the ambiance and the music was perfrct.Staff were brilliant food totally awesome ( you have to try tbe pepper sauce). Definately Ballymena hidden gem. Cant wait to we are back.
