It's a great pub, plus great food, upstairs is another restaurant area, pizza is amazing, the staff are friendly and there's a variety of different beers good prices...

All the outlets look similar even in England, shabby furniture and sticky tables. Can't fault the staff anywhere, but definitely not the same menu we used to enjoy with roast of the day long gone. Most outlets have been replaced with Granny Annie's and they are not worth even visiting. Wetherspoons need to up their game.

Called with a bus load from Lurgan as we have done for numerous years pre covid. Told at 5.30pm no more food was being served upstairs even though it was supposed to be served until 6pm. No seats downstairs so 10 hungry people who couldn't get food or a drink and stuck in Carrick till 8pm. Strangely though food orders were taken upstairs after we had left. Won't be back. Clearly don't care about the business lost.

Fearful storm in Carrickfergus today. Christmas Day. Everything closed even public toilets. The Central Bar was warm with lighted fire. Cosy atmosphere and the staff could not have been more welcoming. Thank you

Visited The Central Bar for breakfast this morning. Friendly efficient staff, convivial surroundings - and a super great-value breakfast! My wife and I left in a very happy mood indeed, and look forward to going back.

Order via app or QR code from your table. Staff friendly and helpful. Prompt service. Good selection of items on the menu, including vegetarian/vegan. Food tasty as always. Additional seating upstairs which is quieter. Nice view of the castle too!
