Wasn't the best service as it took almost forty minutes for our food to arrive, when it did arrive they had got our order wrong so it was shuffled off for another fifteen minutes. Desert was lovely but took another thirty minutes to get someone to come to clear the tables, then when my mum asked for the bill the waitress acknowledged her then swiftly did everything else except come back with it.All in all very disappointing service...........meh food........and to top it all off dirty glasses.

Love the Windrose, but was so disappointed on my last visit for early Mother's Day lunch with my daughter and granddaughter. It was obvious they were very under staffed as tables were left uncleared for a long time and the bar was full of dirty glasses. Though felt sorry for bar staff as they were working hard. The guy who showed us to our table was lovely and did apologise explaining they were busy. The waitress who took our order appeared very inexperienced and was quite rude. She threw our cutlery on the table and then went off to get our napkins leaving us to set the table. Only one of our meals was the right order but food was nice when it did arrive. However no apology for wrong orders. We did get a dessert menu but waited so long we gave up and went and paid our bill. Have been visiting the windrose for years and usually love it but this was not a enjoyable experience!!!

The decor and surroundings are lovely but on a quiet evening with most of the tables empty we were rushed out as our table was apparently booked. When my friend asked if we could move seats we were told that we would have to wait for someone at the bar to leave. It just seemed unnecessary especially as we were looking forward to a proper catch up so we ended up going back to her house. The food was nice but I probably won't be back.

To start off, maybe 3 stars is too generous. My partner and I went here last night for our valentines dinner. We were placed on a high table with leather bar stools. I was immediately in the most pain I’ve ever felt (not to be dramatic). I was wearing a dress so the seat was nipping my skin. We asked to be moved but management said the booths are for 4 people, but if someone leaves or bookings don’t show we would have a booth. The booth beside us sat empty for about an hour after we had been seated. There were also around 6/7 booths around us with couples in them so this definitely wasn’t an accurate statement. I literally could not enjoy my meal because the seat was giving me so much bother, there was no foot support, so our feet were just dangling in mid air whilst trying to eat a 2 course meal. Every time I tried to adjust myself the seat wobbled, if you weighed anymore than me or were older you would struggle even more sitting here. You would probably be moved immediately. The food orders weren’t taken for around 30 minutes and the cocktails had too much lemon juice in. My chicken stack was a little cold and my partners chips very salty. We had to stop someone to ask for another drink. I’ve never been to a restaurant where the staff don’t check on you once. The manager came round when we were about to pay the bill and said there was a booth (the damage had already been done) we definitely pulled the short straw with this restaurant, couldn’t enjoy our Ā£60 meal and rushed out the door. Probably will not be back, felt like I was part of the staff when all I could hear was the management bossing everyone about, not something you want to hear when out for a nice meal.

Staff were attentive and helpful. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Atmosphere and view out over marina gave a wonderful backdrop for a lovely meal with my wife.

My family and I made Windrose our choice for Christmas dinner on Boxing Day, what an excellent decision that was. From we arrived the staff were very attentive and sympathetic to my daughter’s food allergies. We were kept informed at all times what the chief would be able to prepare for her. From the starters to dessert our meals were exceptional, we definitely will be making the Windrose our choice for family dinner’s and can’t wait to return, thank you all, for making our day, extra special.

I haven't eaten here in many, many years and I honestly don't know why. 4 of us went for Christmas Dinner today and the food is outstanding. Staff very attentive, the atmosphere was lovely as was the interior and exterior. Beautiful place to go and we will definitely be back.

We had an evening meal for my wives birthday on the 27th, we called ahead that day to book a table and asked if we could have a table out of the way as our son has autism and can be quite difficult amongst people and noise, when we got there we were ushered to a table on its own totally out of the way which was very much appreciated, we were served by the Scottish Head of House (sorry forgot her name) she was absolutely lovely and could not do enough for us. The food arrived quickly enough, every one of is had a different meal and every one was outstanding, it honestly was the nicest food I have had in a long time. Also the atmosphere and lighting and music in the place was perfect, can't praise it enough and can't wait to go back

This restaurant is situated in a beautiful harbor location. We made a reservation and were seated at a scenic window view. The restaurant is also nice and so is the food and cocktails.
