Neptune & Prawn in Coleraine

I’d give 0 stars if I could.Booked a table through the week for 7.15pm for an anniversary dinner with my partner. After arriving slightly earlier than scheduled, we were shown upstairs for “starters and drinks only” which was fine as it was busy and seems to be the norm.After speaking to a few people that I knew who were also there, I found out they got their tables immediately. However it was busy so I let it slide once again. We ordered the nachos and salt and pepper wings. The wings were about the highlight of the night.After forking out over £40 for a starter each and 2 drinks each my partner asked a member of staff if we had a table for mains and the rebuttal was a yes.Some time passed once more and yet again we asked whether we ACTUALLY had food booked or not. The staff member informed us we were alleged to have only booked for cocktails upstairs. My partner displayed the reservation which clearly stated we were booked for the Neptune and Prawn for a meal. The claim to our logic was then that the “booking system was under development”. How convenient. We eventually left at shortly after 9 - tableless.So, a long story short - 2 people, £40+ in bills, and 0 tables for us. Is it possible to leave a negative star rating? Avoid at all costs

Good food but service was leaving a lot to be desired. We had a table booked but when we arrived we had to wait upstairs and find our own table when one came free. All food and drink had to be ordered and paid for in full on ordering, rather than building a tab as would be expected.

Had the two courses for £13.95 between 17:00 and 19:00 although hard to know if it works out cheaper because a lot of mains have a £3.00 supplement. Having said that what we got was very tasty and the addition of table service makes for a pleasant experience the way it should be. QR code’s are not for me.

Food was grand, menu was a bit small. Food was presented very well. But downside tables to close together and staff are a little to over attentive. Give it a go and decide for yourself. Food with a beautiful view

Order on your phone with no dish descriptions. Pay upfront without really knowing what you're getting. Wait for drinks. Eat bland food while listening to nightclub like music. Sound like fun? Go here.

Disappointed by the deafening loud rave music on a Wednesday evening at 6pm. Not what I expected on a date with my husband, as they used to play chilled music. A lot of time was spent on our phones ordering, when we could have been chatting - no need for this, in my opinion. I didn't like the set up tonight and I won't return for quite some time in the hope things will have improved by then. Having said all that, the staff were lovely. (Not their fault.)

Amazing food and service. We got sweet and sour chicken and chilli chicken chow mein. Both beautiful, but the chow mein was hot so not for someone who doesn't like spice. 10/10 recommend and will be back again 🤩

Only in for cocktails which were great. Free nachos and duck pancakes very much appreciated. Got loud later on when DJ started and trumpet guy got involved. Will be back to have a meal at some point

I'm glad we had shared a starter (duck pancakes, yummm) otherwise we would have left unfulfilled. For £15.95, I didn't expect a slice of chicken that was as flat as it was. It was cooked beautifully may I add and the sauce was delicious but there was more mash than anything (and I was told there was no mash so I asked for noodles, but then it came with mash!). Given a 3 as the food to me was overpriced, still had an enjoyable time with my family even if the neck of a coke bottle was spilled down my right side, in my hair and in between my legs by the waitress lol ... something told me to bring a change of clothes today, accidents happen, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, good view of the harbour, just felt we didn't get what we paid for unfortunately.

From entering we had difficulty ordering using the app with the order going through twice and no table number. Drinks overpriced 6/pint, food similarly overpriced. Duck starter, was fois grand but far from quacking. The black bean beef had ample beef however combined with equal measure of salt. The harbour burger was limp and had as much of a nautical connection as Rosie and Jim. For an Asian inspired restaurant the only connection I could make from my time in Asia was small portions and the feeling of paying more than you should as a tourist. Overall a poor experience.
