A hell of a change at last... Great music on a Saturday

·

Only the usual mass produced beer, and the only beer not a lager or guinness was off, no food, dire!

·

Very quiet these days but it was a weekday.... Table service in place and nice daiquiris.

Arrived around 12:40, was looking forward to Thursday Curry Club lunch. But the building appeared to be deserted. There were menus posted on the gate and door, a large poster outside advertising live music at the weekend ...... but the place appeared to be bolted and barred! Very disappointed.

A nice pub in a historic building. There's a good selection of draft beers and bottled drinks. Staff were friendly and also helpful when we were looking to book a taxi home. The kitchen was closed but there is usually food in here. Shows sports (Premier League football was on). Plenty of places to sit including an outside area.

A lovely place to have dinner at, spacious, nicely decorated and when we were there had live music. The food was also delicious and came in a big portion, very fairly priced, and the staff was very friendly.Giving only 4* as they need to update the menu - it turned out that some meals and what it comes with had some changes not reflected on the menu yet.Otherwise great place, absolutely recommend.

Terrible service. My boyfriend and I went in, hi wasn't even said to us and we had to go looking for someone that worked there. The menu wasn't explained, either was how we could order nothing. The staff really needs to be looked at. No wonder it's dead throughout the day if the waiter and waitress can't be bothered with customers. I'm a waitress myself and couldn't get over this

This is without a doubt the poorest establishment I have ever been in. The selection of drinks is pathetic. I was served a glass of red wine that was as warm as soup. Toilets are dirty and smelly. Carpets are sticky and greasy. I could go on but I'm feeling queasy just thinking about it.

·

Excellent pub grub, better now than when owned by Wearherspoons however not the same selection. Friendly staff. Very quiet on weekday afternoons.

Decent prices on pints (3£ each) with a great selection of beers on tap. They serve small plates of your classic "drunk food" like cheesy bread and chips, where you can pick 3 items for £10. The building is massive with a family for upstairs and a pub/bar on the lower level. The food isn't great, but it levels out with nice staff and a beautiful, cosy bar interior.
