Restaurant @ The Inn at Castledawson in Magherafelt

Had carvery lunch for mother's day Sun 27th March; very disappointed. The food was very tasteless and the table service was terrible. My mother cleared the table of 8 herself, and had to place the plates on the table behind to make space so we could have desert. It was my first time at this restaurant, no one informed us the way desert worked (self service from a fridge) we constantly had to go looking for a member of staff for assistance. My son had to have cold fudge cake and when he had started eating it a waitress approached to ask did he wanted it heated or with cream etc as she was sent by the owner/ manager after seeing the confusion at our table and our own table service. I complained when paying the bill, which I am unsure how it was calculated as you pay by course and a few of us didn't take desert which the staff would not have been aware of as we attended our own table for the majority of our visit. Not how myself as a mother or my own mother wanted to spend our mother's day dinner. Extremely disappointed.

At The Inn for carvery and yet again it was excellent. Tasty and beautifully presented. Staff wonderful, nothing any trouble for.them.

Saturday evening steak night is excellent value and the food is top notch.lovely staff too.would highly recommend

Went for high tea and it was absolutely gorgeous. Love the décor beautiful paintings and old photos of Castledawson years ago. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend

Old fashioned country Inn with very friendly staff and tasty food it was tasty and great grub

Excellent food at the Saturday steak night! A*. Absolutely delicious for our birthday party of 11. Great range of dishes on menu! Fabulous!

Lovely meal , great service , & definitely value for money . Would have no problem recommending it.
