Situated beside Greenacres Golf Centre, Barnabys presents tasty clean food prepared quickly and served by pleasant staff.Barnabys can be quite busy so best to book ahead.Excellent Saturday lunch time venue. If you appreciate good food at a decent price, you won't go wrong at Barnabys.I'm looking forward to a return visit.

We were told on arrival that the boiler had broken down and the place was cold. I had to keep my coat on.There was only 2 other people eating they left soon after and we were left on our own and no other guests arrived while were there. The menu was pathetic. I had what looked like soup and my wife had prawn and crab it was just alright, with only 4 mains and not a great choice we ordered the roast beef wich was edible. There was nothing on the desert menu that I liked so had to settle for ice cream and my wife had Christmas pudding and custard wich she did enjoy. It was al washed down with a bottle of white wine.Very disappointing the whole experience specially when the bill came for £106 and we challenged the waitress she wasn't very helpful and we had to explain to her. The bill was finally £66 expensive for what we had sat in the cold and no ambience. This place used to be a lot better but it has slowly got worse and service and menu is poor. We tried several restaurants and they wer all booked out this was a last resort and the last time we shall be there unless we hear of improvement

Nice place but found the staff not very welcoming and the food was just sub standard! Quite a limited menu which would be fine if all the dishes are were available.Fish was quite soggy under the batter but the chips were nice. Children's burger was basic and we had to ask for sauce ( it wasnt offered). I had the lamb. It was fine, but the potatoes, veg and sauce were a little bland. The kids wanted dessert so me and my husband shared a pavlova. Definitely not freshly made and I would bet any money that it had been pre packed and bought in. I am honest about my reviews and give good feedback were it's due! This place is in a nice setting and the atmosphere felt relaxed. A simple smile or greeting from the staff and some minor adjustments to the food and menu would make a big difference.
