The Captain's Table in Newtownabbey

usually captains table is spot on with their delivery but this time they let themself down i ordered a gravy chip with cheese and only recevied a cheesy chip.

Had two fish and chips they looked fantastic and tasted amazing will definitely be back here again, the service was first class, well done to the staff, will be back again this week 😊

I always like to go to the captains table. Food is always fresh and very good value. The only downside is the long wait for food onec ordered. However this would never stop me from going back for more.

Usually enjoy captains table but tonight placed a small order in shop waited 25 minutes and had. To leave as my son needed picked was looking forward to my food but paid for food that I didnt get to eat due to the long waiting times disappointing

I’ve noticed a change at The Captains table over these last few months, longer waits inshop for a takeaway, and cod is a bit of a hit and miss. I’ve been using this chippy for years, I understand Fridays are busy but behind the counter there seems to be no organisation. I decided to leave going in to order my food until after 7pm tonight, hoping the wait would be slightly shorter, I always ask for a well done cod, tonight I opted for tub of curry sauce . The batter was as thick as the fish and not fully cooked, the curry sauce tasted like it had been watered down. This chippy has been my local for over 40 years. However, I feel sad that I now have to look elsewhere for a chippy dinner. Tonight is not a one off and yes I have mentioned and reiterated I would like the fish well done upon ordering, unfortunately it appears to have fallen on deaf ears. Given these hard times and rise in cost of living, I spent £6.20 tonight and felt it was not worth it.

I eat in here weekly but tonight I got a fish and there was a piece of plastic in it, I complained to the owner who thought it was perfectly normal as the fish is delivered in plastic, I like the place but due to that I will never be back.

Fish supper chicken goujons meal chip butty cheese mayo 2 x sausages. Tub curry.All chips dry/hard like they'd been sitting from previous day. Fish dry, batter thick soggy underneath non crispy outer layer. Chicken goujons look fried numerous times dry and batter as thick as chicken? Chip butty no mayo. Sausages were like grease mush in a skin. Curry was indescribable.Certainly not "vindictive" as regular customers. But this is 3 orders in a row wasting money. Captains table used to be very consistent and quality. Sadly I.m.o. the complete opposite now.Hope that feedback you asked for helps.Take care.

Amazing battered cod. Worth driving all those miles for. Best ever. Friendly and very efficient staff. Worth every bit of 5*

Great! One of the nicest chip shops in County Antrim. My parents and I called in for lunch this afternoon and really enjoyed the whole experience! Speedy service despite it being so busy! The restaurant was also very clean and tidy. The food was delicious and served hot. I went for the kids sausage meal as I wasn't feeling overly hungry and it was perfect! Great portion sizing and quality! My dad really enjoyed his meal too. Definitely will return in future. Highly recommend as a good quality restaurant for anyone seeking a chip shop meal!

Nice food, good quality but definitely no quantity, the days of getting a chip to feed a family are well and truly gone, every time I get a chip I always end up annoyed at the lack of. Will be enough for 1 portion or 2 small portions.Potatoes cost nothing stop being so light.@Response:Costs go up as reflected in your Price, That portion is just embarrassing. Clearly margins are more important. Also good work addressing feedback.
